Here is my shituation, I am open to any suggestions or comments.

Hubby & I been together 4 yrs, married just this Valentines day in Jamaica.

I havent filed yet cuz I was a single mummy with 4 kids, working full time BUT used to get a top up from welfare due to my work hours and amount of small kids. The top up was like couple hundred and a drug card. Anyway, I was told that without using a lawyer to get around this, I should be off it for a year b4 filing so my tax return will show no assistance pymts.

So I cut that off from 2009, but my last tax return showed some pymts from them.

Aside from that...there should be no issues, but I am trying to collect as much info as possible so that our filing goes as smooth as possible.

My husband tried to get a visitor visa summer of '09 and they flat out standard denial letter'd him. no interview nothing. He has never left di island so mi sure dat play a big part in di issue.

Aside from dat wha else mi can tell unnu, mi kids have all been to Jamaica to see him, he works, no criminal record, loads of pics n ting....


Thoughts anyone?

Mrsl, if you haven't collected assistance in 2010 your tax return will show that an you'll be good to go. You'll need to order your Option C prinout from Canada Revenue next year after you get your tax return. 80 days to Christmas LOL, Hubby hopes to be back for Christmas, I need to think about a present for him for it too! Although...I would just like to say...if your birthday is in Nov or Dec, you should just call your Christmas pressie the birthday pressie too or vice versa! Wait...we got married 3 weeks before my birthday...but mi still want mi anniversary gift!

hey Charlie, my hubby's bday is Dec 22.....I don't mean to be selfish but it would certainly be a nice bday and Christmas present for him to be here with me ;D it would be our 7th month mark....you never know.....

lol I don't know if I was thinking too clearly but we got married on my bday...that means only 1 day of presents on the other hand, hubby is totally screwed if he EVER forgets my bday or our anniversary

mrslwsn - it's pretty normal to be denied for a travel visa....my hubby was and most ppl on here have had no luck with that either

Nae - from your timeline, I would say you should be expecting him for Christmas! I would be whooping for joy for you, because I am selfish too...I want all of you waiting before me approved so when it's my turn oono nuh hold up mi progress

All kidding aside...I'm sure it would be the most awesome Christmas ever, and I will say my prayers a little longer tonight, now that you give me a detail to work with, lol. God is busy, we have to give Him specifics to work with, that's what my mother always says!

What a piece of adventure!

KG busy man quiet a few pp pick up, drop off and docs submitting. Ya'll know i had to faass in everybody business and cock me ears and listen And who but the doctor himself(beenieman) show up in the embassy deh pon one cussin in the interview room and everybody a dead with laugh cause we all know they took away his US visa.

The lady at the front told me it takes KG one month to receive the results back from Trinidad so expect a call around then. She also asked me how much I paid for Meds and her jaw dropped.

I wonder if I saw Kenwife hubby? There was this nice gentleman next to me a kill me wid joke bout beenie man ;D

Man I hope they sort this thing out by christmas...I wanna share a fire side with hubby and me weave...

LOL nae-nae yes yes family girl.. Jammy great you got the papers dropped off. Hubby was called 2 weeks after he dropped off and ECAS already changed to meds recieved. Sooooo who knows hopefully sooner then she said, That would be awesome.
