Ok thank you to all who replied. Some people had said 6 months some 9 and some a year so just wanted to be sure. That makes me feel better it's not just 6 months.missmyhubbysomuch said:A year
I would wait til end of june even july if you dont get ppr then go do it hubby did his two weeks after expired thank god or we would still be waiting to send passportcanjamdiva said:Hey folks... Just a question for those who got ppr and request for another police check, had yours expired or was it close to expiring?
With all the ppr's coming I'm wondering if it's s good idea to redo the police check , ours expires in August so if we don't get ppr by June, should we just redo it & send? I'm just imagining getting ppr but then having to wait for the police check to get done prior to send off ... Hope that question makes sense I don't wanna wait longer than I need to for hubby to get here
Our first police report was good only 9 months our second was 12 monthsSpartabarbiie said:Ok thank you to all who replied. Some people had said 6 months some 9 and some a year so just wanted to be sure. That makes me feel better it's not just 6 months.
love your Landing story! Happy for u!MrsMcLaughlin said:LANDING STORY!!!!!!
I still can't believe he's actually here, I feel like the past 24 hours have a been a dream. I arrived at the airport 20 minutes before his flight even landed so I knew I was in for a wait still lol. I was so anxious standing right up at the front by the international arrivals door, every time the doors opened my heart would skip a beat. And when I started to see people who were on his flight start to come through the doors (with their Jamaica duty free boxes lol) I got so excited I can't even describe it. But as more and more people came through and left I started to get anxious again because he wasn't one of them. His flight landed at 6:36 and he didn't come through those doors until almost 9! When I finally saw him walk out and we locked eyes, the feeling in my heart was something I will never ever forget. It was like the weight of the entire world had finally been lifted off my shoulders. I ran to meet him at the bottom of the ramp and the moment I felt his arms around me that's when it hit me that he was finally here. We walked past timmies and got him his french vanilla and then we were on our way! We stopped for some food on the way so it was probably close to 11pm by the time we finally reached home, so needless to say our living room is full of suitcases still because no unpacking was done last night LOL! We woke up in each others arms this morning and it was the greatest feeling in the world. For the past few weeks I had been so stressed out making sure everything in the apartment was perfect and doing everything I could to make sure he would be comfortable and happy when he got here. So this morning when I caught him staring off into space I anxiously asked him if he was ok, and if the apartment felt like home. He looked at me with the most peaceful look on his face and replied "Babe anywhere you are, that's home. I couldn't be happier" and kissed my forehead. My heart melted. Just thinking about it right now as I sit here on my computer, with him laying on the couch right beside me, still brings tears of joy to my eyes.
To everyone still waiting, your time will come. And it will be worth the wait, and the struggles, and the pain. The moment your loved one walks through those doors all of the stress of this process disappears. I fully know that it will not all be sunshine and rainbows, and that we will have new struggles and stresses to deal with now that he's here, but we are ready for them. This process has taught us about strength, communication, trust and love, and I can't wait to see what the rest of this life has in store for us.
I can't wait to hear everyone else's landing stories, I want all of you to experience this feeling <3 Life is sweet
I honestly wouldn't redo a PC until your close to it expiring. Some people have just gotten their passport requested without the PC expiring. Unfortunately they sent PPR to my husband with a PC redo, the same day his PC expired!!! ( Can u imagine) *Sighhh* So we had to redo it again. Maybe that won't be your case. So I would just wait until like July to do it, don't spend money if you don't need to, this process is already costly as it is.canjamdiva said:Hey folks... Hi, not sure what is best here. My husband get his PPR on Jan 13th and was also required to send along a new PC. Although both were received by the VO on January 27th he has not gotten his passport back yet. This is particularly worrisome since passports seem to be coming back way faster then this. I can't help thinking it has to do with the PC and maybe a look back date? Does anyone have any thoughts? Our lawyer has checked in and been told that the passport received and his application will be finalized shortly and that was three weeks ago... They also said they would contact my husband directly for next steps??? I have a meeting with my MP's office tomorrow so I am really hoping I can get some answers as I am starting to get really nervouscanjamdiva said:Hey folks... I had no interaction with the VO because I sent everything up front. Unless you don't send everything upfront, you wont have any interaction with them unless YOU EMAIL THEM FIRST. The people who hear from the VO before PPR, are the people who haven't paid for the RPRF and if the VO needs additional documents. VO seems to be requesting all those @ 5 Months after you sent in the application. After that you probably wont be hear anything from the VO until they request an interview or PPR and that seems to be around 10-11 months right now.Spartabarbiie said:Question. People who have gotten through, what was the first interaction you had with the VO? I am 4.5 months in and haven't heard a thing, (Kingston has had the application for 4.5 months, so 6.5 if you count SA) except a response when I have sent in other information, ie. Pictures, our son being born (birth certificate) etc. Just wondering when we can expect to hear something, even when the passport is usually requested? I see a lot of people getting through totally in around 9 months or so. Thank you all for any responses!
Ok thanks! I have sent everything in, they shouldn't have to request a thing. Also paid all the fees upfront. Just getting so impatient.... I know not hearing something from them is a good sign, can't wait to get our notes at the end of the month. Hope there's some info in thereMixedChick92 said:I had no interaction with the VO because I sent everything up front. So that's about 5 months from The sponsorship portion or when the Visa office receives it?MixedChick92 said:I had no interaction with the VO because I sent everything up front. Yes they can use the same one, had this happen to a friend a couple years back was something minor and they sent it back it's the same application not a new one so no need to pay againjacalinkup said:Asking for a friend. Unfortunately their papers got sent back to them because of an error in the paperwork. Will they have to pay the fee again or when they resend it in they can use the same receipt?
