We are still waiting for passport to be returned. Wednesdat will make it 2 weeks so maybe this week or next

I guess even if he isnt, at least he will be for xmas and thats important to us and the kids.
My lil guy (our youngest) is sick today and keeps crying for Da-da. Poor baby. They dont understand when I tell them daddys coming soon, but it will be a shock!
I think Im going to surprise our 5 year old when we go to the airport to pick up Daddy. I take the kids to the Wendys across from the Toronto airport often and we watch the big planes coming in, so I think Im going to pretend thats what we are doing and we can watch Daddys plane land and I will tell them its time to pick up Daddy!
Usually when we go I tease them and say "dont u wish that was Daddys plane", so it wouldnt be unusual if I teased them about it this time. Except we will be picking him up lol. I cant wait!!!

I love our forum family and Im so thankful for you all here. Ive learned sooo much. I havent always been positive while going thru the process and there were a few times I just had to push myself or else Id give up. Its so hard on all of us, and just to have others going thru it to help explain things and motivate and laugh and complain along with me made a big difference for me.
In the beginning it was hard for me to hear others get thru before me. I was envious and hurting to be with my husband, but not long after I joined the forum I really felt connected to people here and I was actually really happy for others getting thru and glad to cheer everyone on when I felt my hubby would never get PPR.
Also, when most of the ppl I first started talking to on here started getting ppr and landing and leaving the forum and new people came to the forum it was quite cool to be able to hear others who were in my position just months before. Its a never ending circle of couples like all of us, going thru the same thing, and we can help newbies go thru what we have experienced. It just feels like family here, so I want to say I appreciate each and every person here, each unique story, every bond we make on here.

I have an update.... Today my husband went to the post and received a letter requesting for his and my stepsons birth certificate with updated forms.

Ohhh ok. My hubby was asked for our sons birth certificates to show his name was on them as the father.

Goodnight well i sent in papers for caips notes for hubby pr i hope i did it right but was. Wondering do i have to request mine or will it all come together it wouldnt let me pick sponsorship and PR online does anyone know

As long as you the requested the notes for his permanent residence file then it will include everything If you've already been approved as a sponsor and now you're just waiting to hear back from Kingston about his permanent residence application then any notes they've made on his file will be in there

21,business days on who's end? Is that how long they are saying the embassy will take to have put the visa in and send it back? Or 21 days on the part of DHL?

21 days for DHL to receive it back from embassy. @canjamdiva, he asked them to hold it so he could pick it up. Ugh this feels like forever!!

You said you asked them to hold it - ar you sayin you asked Cic to hold it? Are they going to? Is it possible to drop it off and pick it up yourself instead of a courier?

Hi All,

Hoping for some feedback and suggestions now that I finally have some more info on my bf’s situation. He has FINALLY arrived home in Jamaica as of yesterday after a lengthy time in detention. It is soooo good to finally be able to speak to him freely again. That was the longest 3.5 weeks of my life. Apparently it was his ex-girlfriend who tipped off immigration. There had been a warrant out for his arrest, due to the fact he had overstayed his visa. The positive news is that he was only given a 1 year exclusion order. In fact, while I was talking to him on the phone while he was awaiting a hearing with immigration, I overheard one of the CBSA agents tell my bf that out of all the detainee’s he has seen over the years, my bf least deserved to be there, and mentioned how both my bf and his grandmother were such good people. He even said that it was something he NEVER does, but would be willing to supply my bf with a supporting letter when he reapplies for a Visa next year (unfortunately, the agent later found out that this was against the rules and couldn’t do it).

Other than the 1 year exclusion order, I also learned that my bf had paid a lawyer close to $5000 to help him with his situation, knowing that he was here illegally; he was legitimately trying to get his papers in order. The lawyer sat on his papers and never submitted them. Unfortunate, but I think that is something that could add to the case in his favour in the future...

He and I have much to talk about and discuss and figure out... the only thing that we know for certain is that we love eachother, and we want him to be able to come back to Canada next year. In fact, upon hearing when he would be sent home, I went ahead and booked myself a return ticket straightaway so that I can visit him in November. Ideally, I plan on trying to get over there to see him every 3 months... I assume it will come to the point where I sponsor him down the line, and while we haven’t spoken about marriage yet, I feel like this is the most likely route that will take place. I guess… I am just hoping for some feedback, guidance, help, support… what can we do starting now to increase his chances of him coming back? Do we have to wait a year before he can even apply? I assume it wouldn’t be wise to get married right away, as that wouldn’t look favorable in the eyes of immigration... I assume that they'll want proof of our relationship up until the time he was taken into custody... I know we'll want to document my trips to Jamaica as well. Am also hoping this newly elected government will be a blessing. I have heard that back in the day, the Liberals were much more open to immigration policies and it wasn’t until Harper took office that waiting times and rules were increased…

Anyway- like I said, any words of wisdom or advice would be most appreciated. Thank you all in advance!
