Hello dear members,
As promised, I am touching base with you to tell you about our landing story. All went very smoothly for us. Flight was perfect, immigration gave my husband a warm welcome at the airport. They asked him very few questions. He said it was more of a conversation then anything else. He had to show his papers and that's about it. He was given a SIN number right at the airport and a welcome bag full of info to start his life in Canada. Came out of the doors with a big smile and warm hug for me :-*
We have been settling in quite nicely. He seems very comfortable and happy. It is so incredible to finally have him in my environment after so many months.... years of living in his. We are taking things easy right now, one thing at a time. There is lots to do to fully integrate into this new life in Canada. I will be taking a couple of weeks off work and we will use July to relax and enjoy each other. He will probably start trade school in September to begin a new career.
We had a truly enjoyable Canada Day yesterday: CN tower, fireworks and even a visit with a friend of his who lives in the area. We are on our way to happiness together
Good luck to you all. It is not an easy journey but well worth it in the end.
Thank you for your sound advice and for sharing. Take good care!!!
