I've not heard a thing from Kingston. I last ordered notes in December and when received in jan they showed what they have always said that our medicAls will expire in April. Hubby has redone his police check which expire in February so it will be ready when they request it. It seems a fair bit of ppl have heard from Kingston at their one year bring forward date so I plan to order my notes after April 11. I'm 6 months pregnant now and the reality of having my baby alone Is setting in.

I second that - it really varies and for the Kingston lottery..you can't really tell what will or won't work.

I have two friends who submitted additional information and sent emails WEEKLY confirming status. They got the PPR and visa within 4months of applying and they're both 2013 applicants. One of them even emailed to say I will be in Jamaica during this time x - y and the embassy called her hubby and confirmed she was there and told them to bring the passport and come together. They got the visa issued on the spot.

Kingston is soooo unpredictable.

So true chickie... They unpredictable... Like I want to but then I'm like I don't want to fall on their bad side...lol ill just leave everything in God hands... If they call for an interview.. Just go prepare.. If not its just a bonus for us...

On the issue of sending additional info... who knows? I've sent two additional packages and I think it will help once they look at my file to ward away any questions that could lead to interview. I too know of several people who sent additional packages and got thru quickly... my MP office told me not to send in new police check or medical until requested...

Those horrid phone bills!!! Hubby and I joke saying 'imagine how much money we will save when we are in the same house!'...no insane phone bills, no $1000s of dollar trips every few months...we will feel rich

May take a while to get use to it MrsP and we will be calling them on the phone when they are in the next room. LOL! Hahaha...reminds me of the ScotiaBank commercial "You're Richer Than You Think"...that will be us when they are finally HERE with us!!

basically if you keep ordering them check the file transfer history it will keep changing from person to person when they are working on the different stages. Like mine would say send for ??? And then another person would get the file and ask for it. Each set of notes I got I would highlight anything different in the new from the old and I could see the different things. Also u will see dates that u can see where changes have been made
Im not sure how much help if any this information will be. But im putting it out there.
Too got no help from my MP
Went straight to the immigration ministers office.
Took the day off work..went in with a press release he had done in sept 2013 stating how he is working on streamlining the immigration process to help bring families together faster.
I asked "if yo mean what you say in this releaswe, why are familes stil waiting"?
His office sent an email requesting updates.

CW89 that is encouraging bc they work fast but also discouraging bc what about everyone else - some waiting 20 months and other in just 4 months?? So unfair! KGN is so unpredicatable and that is what I am sure drive most of us insane!! Were your two friends cases straight forward? Both spousal applications?

Question about that... I was told that they already know when you take additional trips because they are able to run your passport. Is this not true? It doesn't matter to me either way because I have passport stamps and itineraries if he ever get called in for interview. And thousands of dollars in phone bills *embarrassed face* lol

Without a doubt they can pull up our passports and see when and how often we have entered the country. Sure that they probably also request phone records from both parties. They have eyes everywhere I bet. I will just feel better sending in the package, but will think on it more closer to the 8 month mark. So many different and varying opinions on this. I agree with MrsB though that it doesn't hurt if when they pick up your file they see extra stuff and also prevents delay of them asking for it later.

That's for sure! Yep - both straight forward spousal sponsorships. Never married, no kids, dating for years etc.

I know people who have received replies from Mr. Alexanders office... I think the more of us that bother him and make him aware of the flawed immigration system and its effects on families the better....

Hello everyone,

In regards to e- mail communication from Kingston, I e- mailed them twice ( May 2013, Jan 2014) they replied both times. The first response was a generic e- mail ( we recieved your application... In the processing que) the second was a direct answer to my questions!

In regards to re- doing expired medicals/ police... I asked them (KGN) and they responded not to re-do them, they will request if required.

Let’s be honest. This truly is a Kingston lottery. They do not go in order of receipt because if they did, people who applied after me would not have already gotten through as they have. As well, look at chickie, her file is literally just sitting there at this point. She hasn’t even been advised WHY it’s still sitting there, just that it is. Some notifications would be nice: “Sorry for the delay, but we are investigating your file further as new evidence has come up.” Or “Your file has been placed in queue for VISA issuance or denial. You will have a response within 60 days.”

In reality I know I am asking too much from them

My application is straight forward... never married, no children, never left the country and never applied to leave the country, lots of evidence of courtship prior to marriage, and here we are at over 8 months in Kingston with no response. Straight forward doesn't always mean fast I guess. lol

Straight forward applications would be applying for you and your spouse only where the spouse has never left the country. More complicated apps would be kids coming up, spouse needs an arc or they have lived outside the country before or apps where the sponsor and applicant haven't known each other long before they got married.
