Hi everyone!

I'm new here...after staying up all night last night reading about everyone's own immigration journeys and getting some encouragement.. I decided to join!

My husband and I have been together just over 7 years, and got married December 9, 2012.
We applied for PR on March 8, 2013
Received our AOR on March 11, 2013
Received sponsorship eligibility April 5, 2013, then our file was transferred to Kgn.

When I check the status on ECAS it just says Application Received and when I click on that, that Medical results have been received.

I have been back to Jamaica twice since we applied. Do you think it is worth it for me to send them additional proof of relationship from this past year since we've applied, or would that just annoy them? What usually comes next? We are doing our best to stay positive. Everyday is one day closer to receiving that call.. :)

Thank you so much!

Ok for the notes its $5.00 and there's a consent form your spouse will have to fill out and sign to give you authorization to get information on the file, there's also an authorization form your supposed to fill out can either be mailed or online.. But you can find out more info on CIC website. Its CAIPS notes.. Nev had posted a link in a previous post about notes and its 30 calendar days until you receive them.. And one thing about notes that I have notice, you can keep ordering and you won't see any movement on your file but they are processing it. And a next you can see movement as others.

A next forum member can give you more info if you need..

Question. Once hubby lands, can we do all the banking, healthcare, SIN # application right away or do we have to wait for documents?

Hey JamFam,

Kingston is working; this is good ;D

Congrats everyone who got PPR; passports back; hubby landed :D

Who is next Kingston? :)

Hello and welcome....if you click on the link below my or Kadi's tickers you will see a spreadsheet that has everyones timelines since they have applied. Anyone in dark purple have gotten their passport backs, light purple they are waiting for their passports back and anyone is white.....sadly are still waiting. I will post a link after this with all the information about the notes for the new people. Some people can see progress on their notes, while others don't see anything, it just depends on if your officer is good at updating the GCMS program or not. As for sending additional documentation, that is completely up to you......some people have and others haven't.....i sent additional documents up to about 9 months after my file was in Kingston (twice i sent them my itinerary from my trips down and once I sent them my new passport and license after i changed my last name) Congrats on making it to stage 2....sit back and relax and they are busy working so hopefully you will hear something soon.

Here is the information another member posted a while ago regarding the notes:

GCMS notes (Global Case Management System) are notes that are made on your file. The Sponsor can order them online or by mail for $5 and the Applicant has to sign a consent form. They take 30 calendar days (sometimes longer) to be sent to the Sponsor once they are ordered.

A lot of people order the GCMS notes if they have been in the process (around a year) and haven't heard anything from Kingston. It is also a good idea to order them if you are scheduled for an interview.

Should you choose to order the notes, here is the link to the CIC website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

Please note: there may not be a lot of information in your notes so it's up to you if you want to order them. Not all visa officers update the system on a regular basis.

You can do everything at once however you won't get his OHIP card for 3 months. They need to be in Ontario for 3 months to receive benefits. (That is if your in Ontario. Other provinces I think are the same)

If they do not have OHIP for 3 months does anyone know if others have gotten independent travel insurance for those first three months? Just curious.
