Good Day Ladies n Gents,
I recently sponsored my wife who resides in Jamaica with my two daughters. Application was submitted in the first week of August 2013. We were contacted because it was short a document that was released July 30th 2013. Angry Anyway, sent the document in as requested. On September 24 2013 the application status has been in ''Decision Made' which i was told was fairly quick. Its been 4 months and no new updates.24th of February makes it 5 months. aside from this being the hardest thing to do in my life. I'm hemorrhaging money, i pay rent here in Canada as well as other expenses in addition in having sent back 18,000 via western union since may 2013 until now. Is there anything i can do to speed up this very slow and non informative process. How long am i looking at because the CIC website has some inaccurate times regarding processing. it says 22 months. yet i don't know a single perrson who has waited this long. any help will be appreciated.

regards,
calgariancanuck

Hi goodnight calgariancanuck..
Welcome and congrats you have passed stage 1... Unfortunately there's nothing you can do to spEed up this process and yes the average time is 22 months.. And believe it there are members that reach 22 months.. I can't remember but they said 22 months and it just went into process on ecas.. But you can be one of the luck one who can finish in 6 -8 months, be patient and have hope that everything will work..

Hey Lovindahubby,
appreciate the response. yea it seems to be random and inconsistent. i know 4 people who have sponsored spouses within last 3 years and only one waited two years because of complications regarding him getting deported. other 3 all within 6-9 months. Went thru some old channels within last 5 minutes to see if we can get some more immediate information. i'll hear back my friday, yard too small. haffi have a link somewhere out of the thousands i know. will be in touch.

gratitude

Welcome CC!!!

Nice to have more men around going through this process. Please feel free to ask questions, vent, and complain about this process. Let's hope you do not have much longer to be reunited with your family.

You have stumbled onto a very supportive and informative group of individuals whom know exactly what you are going through and experiencing.

All the best on this not so pleasant journey!!!

AHHH i am freaking out right now!!

We got our notes back (2 days early at that) and it says that nothing has been done, and the only change was that it went from being with JA01318 back to registry! Didn't this happen to another member and wasn't this a bad thing? :(

Take a deep breath and count to ten.

Let's look at this from a different perspective...An officer looked at your file and has made some form of assessment. From what we know...Kingston does not update the files regularly so for all we know they have sent out for some additional information or have initiated a check and are waiting on the results.

Please do not think anything other than positive and good thoughts!!!

Take it from the person whose file has not left the registry.

Hold on I forgot to say...after counting to ten to exhale... :p

Good day Jam Fam... Happy hump day!!

I guess I'm a bit late with the "tell me something good" subject... But... better late than never!! :)

I got the Sponsorship Approval email today from Mississauga. YAY !!! One small step closer to the goal!
Hooray!!! Yippee!!! Second hurdle down...first was sending off the application...now on to the next.

Welcome to stage 2...Here's to hoping you are in and out of this process as quick as the Sponsorship Approval stage.
