In all the years of writing I have never written a poem as fast as I have this one. This forum has been a great eye opener and has contributed to several chapters of my book. I leave with amazing insight into the intricacies of women to women interaction and the sad reality that in a garden paradise women are the indeed the reason why humans died in the creation story. Creators of life we are, yet so devilish that the enemy does not need much to tear us apart. We lack respect for personal reflection, and honesty. May your journey take you to your own personal truth, may the scars that remain remind you that you have lived and traveled an equal opportunity road. It would not be fitting if I did not submit a song that has kept me grounded.. keep me moving beneath the load.

I know who I am.
I walk with confidence though I am faced with the forces of hell....
I stand in the midst of the battle knowing that I am free.
I am beautiful, I am black
I a strong,
I am God and he is me
No SHADOWS can darken my path
for I am surrounded by pure light
I live and learn about trust
hold my life in anticipation of the terrors around the bend
yet remain true to my beliefs even if others seek to prosecute me
with eyes wide shut I drink from the spring of life
knowing the hand that embraces me may someday strangle me to death
So I walk on through muddy lake, leaving tracks behind
Never afraid to lead my enemies to face me, rip my heart out, be unkind
Each man or woman must face their destiny
each person must stand on their own feet
when truth causes you to suffer ill-will
Justice arrives on golden wings to deliver you
May I garner strength to suffer the inequalities of this world
and a gentle heart to love those who need me when they find out
I was not the enemy they wanted me to be
0r the coward they sought to bury beneath the load.
