Medicals are extended up to one year.

This is only granted when the expiration of the medical your hubby did is the only thing holding up the final decision on his application. It is at the discretion of the visa officer and they can only do it within 15 months of the initial medical being completed. For example: if your hubby did his medical on September 15, 2012, the window of opportunity for them to request an extension would be until December 15, 2013. If they extend it then it would be valid until September 15, 2014.

Did your hubby do his medical in April or September? If they have not extended them yet then he will have to re-do his medical because it is past 15 months.

If they extended your hubby's medicals it will be in the GCMS notes.

He did his in April 2012. on the notes is says "in progress" for his medical.
