GCMS notes (Global Case Management System) are notes that are made on your file. The Sponsor can order them online or by mail for $5 and the Applicant has to sign a consent form. They take 30 calendar days (sometimes longer) to be sent to the Sponsor once they are ordered.

A lot of people order the GCMS notes if they have been in the process (around a year) and haven't heard anything from Kingston. It is also a good idea to order them if you are scheduled for an interview.

Should you choose to order the notes, here is the link to the CIC website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

If you want to read more about notes, enter GCMS notes in the forum search engine.
I have no idea what I would do without this forum! Thank you so much!!!!!

All my vacation time is spent on my husband. I was down there in August for 12 days and I will be heading down there Dec for xmas and 3 weeks after. I got down every 3 months and cost me anywhere from 1400 to 2000 just for airfare alone. I average about 3,000- 4,000 each trip to Jamaica.
I think I would have a heart attack!!! Thats so much money, even though it is for your husband. I'm super lucky I guess because all I pay for is my airfare and my husband pays for everything else and even gives me money when I leave for airport stuff. That way I'm never worried about exchange and what-not.

Good to know. I'm also very happy that I found this forum. Speaking of the interview. for those who have gone through it what type of questions do they ask? Also if I'm in Canada and they request an interview does that mean I have to go to Jamaica? And ive seen a lot of interviews waived... is this because all of the paperwork is in order and they have accepted it?

There is a list of interview questions floating around the forum that you can search for or someone will come along and post them for you.

An interview for Spousal sponsorship is requested when an IO has questions about your relationship that they require information/clarification on. If you have answered every question in full, left no doubt in the IO's mind that your relationship is genuine, and have no red flags you more than likely will not be called for an interview. An interview is requested when there is doubt in the IO's mind that your relationship is not genuine.

Only the Applicant is requested at the interview so as the Sponsor you will not be asked to attend.

Knowledge is power my friend!!!

I have 'studied' every page of this thread (more than once) :-[ , read A LOT of the different topics on this forum, used the handy search engine, devoured the CIC website, and asked a lot of questions.

Yes, it's been a long (almost) 20 months...and that's not counting all of the time spent putting the application together beforehand!
