Hello everyone and happy Monday!

Hi soso...I'm new to the forum but wanted to say congratulations on the baby!

Hubby was told he could get his police check in Montego Bay so that's where he went today. After they said yes they would do it for him, he waited 2 hours and then they said no, he has to go to Kingston lol oh well....he went and did his medical instead. Now he can't go to Kingston until next Monday which means we won't be able to submit our applications for at least a month :'( oh well, c'est la vie! I'm anxious to get them in and start the process of waiting some more lol

jammy... you guys see rain over the weekend? hopefully it cooled it down some... we were in town today and while it was still hot it wasn't unbearable (although we left before noon, and up here was hot hot hot, so i can just imagine town might have warmed up some too)

rosie... hope you can hear something sooner and that it's good news!

our weekend was a nice one... hubby and i took the baby (left the other two trouble makers with grandma ) and headed west... Negril... not my favourite place, but it was nice to get away... the seas were lovely and warm and we got to have some of our favourite food (sips and bites).. no kid stories since we left them behind..hehehe

current is locked off here for some reason or another (not weather b/c we didn't have rain for the first time in over a week... ), so i guess i'd better save battery life... hopefully there will be updates tomorrow...

Yup Chelly it rained here on saturday...really cooled the place down. Now its cooking again....lol

Nae-Nae sorry to hear about your wait to wait. There is always somebody who knows something they know nothing about. Stick with what you read here and you cant go wrong. Your Hubby went to a doctor from the list right?

We another day come and gone. Give thanks we made it through and are one step closer to the end of this long process.

yes jamwifey he did go to one of the doctors on the list, I made sure of that! lol he also got all his tests done today too. I knew it was too good to be true that he didn't have to go to Kingston today....oh well, he was going to do the medical next Monday so he just ended up switching the 2. So one down and one to go.

nae-nae, my hubby went to the one in ochi to get medical done and he was really nice...no hassle at all...the guy even wanted hubby to let him know when he got approved to come to Canada so he knew everything went well so before hubby left Jamaica he went in to say a quick hello/bye!

Hi everyone,

Well big day today ... passport pick up! We haven't booked a flight yet - still need to tie up some loose ends (selling car, bank accounts etc). Since he doesn't have a ton of close family there, he's pretty much leaving to only return for vacations.

I am praying for some more updates this week. I know Sassy is soon. She really should have been the 2nd for ARC and not us - but it's just a matter of time.

rosemel - you are funny! lol I hope your dream comes true very soon!

helpme - the doctor your husband saw sounds really nice! there are 2 doctors in Mobay, 1 male and 1 female, he called both and found the female much more friendly and welcoming. He said the male doctor's office didn't give him as much information as the female's office and hung up on him. He said she was nice but didn't report her being as nice as your husband's doctor lol

ok another question - since my husband and I just got married I'd like to change my last name however, I'm worried that messing with my identification may be a problem with travelling and our applications for immigration. It will take some time to have everything changed and it may not all be done until after I send in the applications to immigration (mainly my passport).

Any advice or suggestions on that would be greatly appreciated!

Well new day today and Tuesday usually big for updates. Fingers crossed!

ROSIE: Nice dream....lol Pretty soon that dream will come thru.

WELL WELL WELL!!!!! GOTTA LOVE KG... So my MP called just now and guess what....they told her they never received our "Selection Certificates" !!!!!! OMG you gotta be kidding me!!! I emailed them...they had our number...gee maybe you could pick up the phone and call and tell us that...anyways... My MP is on it...because they photocopied everything yesterday so THEY faxed them directly to them requesting a confirmation..YAY.... SO we will see where this takes us... She also said that this is normal with ALL offices and now we will see how much longer they take???? She also made them aware that his Meds are due to expire next month...OH how I hope this lights the fire under them arses!!!! 8)

I sent off my application and only changed my name after...I still have a few things that I did not change my name on it,I did not want to send off my passport in case I wanted to make a last minute trip but I suppose I could get that changed anytime now... Only getting my name changed on my bank accounts on Thursday so really it's up to you...no rush

Rosie, never received them..they seem to love saying that... well at least your MP is helping you so hopefully something will happen soon! Keep the faith..

Congrats Homesoon........ YES YES YES.........so exciting...

Rosemel... what the frig is that.... man oh man.... why is kg so tough at times!

Took a 4 day weekend and feel great....... hubbies b day is this weekend.. not sure what to do for him but will think of something....

Soso - finally you come out of hiding... lol... glad that things are going well with the baby and the new job.... say happy belated to the likkle one for us.... love that kid lol

As far as someone asking about the police certificate... the police certificate is to be obtained by KG you do not send anything with the package... (i sent the police certificate receipt just for the fun of it - but they still called my hubby and asked if he had done his police check - which was weird - whatever we were happy to hear from KG)
