The MPs office more than likely (mine did) looks at the date your file was sent to Kingston as to the length of time your application has been in process per say. So in their minds it would be from August not June. :

yea she did and she right.. its not been that long...
just seems like a lifetime to me as everyone knows on here lol

I am thankful she helped me and now i can settle down and make plans to not expect too much for now
things will happen when they happen...and i will keep asking the angels above to push my file to someones desk soon
besides that..
he was checking the post office like every 3 days taking trips to st.ann.. so it will settle us both down and realize we gotta be patient

Your MP ripped you off (even though she did the inquiry). LOL

They're supposed to go by the date it gets tranferred to KG. I went with the sponsor approval date.

I believe the MPs office contacts Mississagua or Ottawa, and not Kingston.

My MP told me that they are required to go through a "middle-man" representative in Ottawa until you have reached full processing time which at that point the MP can contact Kingston directly. There is a representative for each certain area in Canada ie/ the representative for Manitoba also represents Saskatchewan

mine still on application received so thats why nothing been started yet
CIC told me that in process means they working on it and app received just means noithing to report yet as initial checks not done.. (marriage authenticity)

That is the most inaccurate bunch of bull I've heard from them. Application received doesn't really indicate much. It can say ap received yet your file is being worked on. Don't monitor that Dlmo. You application preliminary review is performed within a few weeks of being received by KG. It's like a manufacturing pulley. It goes down the pipe from one check to the next. LOL. Like making a car.

And it also means that KG just may not have updated ecas. There are plently of people on here that never saw 'in process' on ecas and it went straight to 'decision made'. Again, no consistency (and I'm also trying to make myself feel better because my ecas still has 'application received'.)

No I am sorry, my husband has never left the island. I am waiting now 1 year and 3 months since applying. There seems to be no valid reason that they are taking so long. No red flags etc. So I sit and wait ahhh.
