Landing Story. Landing Story!! ;D ;D
Morning my forum family! I want to thank you all for being here for me through this process.....I am still pinching myself in those surreal moment.....I am finally home!
Congratulations on all the updates and Mrslwn I know exactly how you feel about your reunion! I feel the same way! Lol!
Here goes the landing story. I called my travel agent as soon as I realized that the passports were enroute, we were booked for Saturday via Winnippeg, I expressed my concern about the 1 hr 10 mins connection time seeing that I was landing, she said not to worry, so I stopped worrying. I packed my bags ( yes I am a procrastinator! Lol) all 9 of them and was ready to depart on Saturday. I returned my rented car and headed for check in. My son cried like a baby because he was leaving his girlfriend. The lines at the airport immigration was ridiculous all the way out to the restaurant! Luckily I still have connections I was escorted in and thru! My daughter was distraught as her friends had come to see her after we were inside the terminal, again another friend of mine escorted her out to see them and carried her back! Great friends I have! We went to our gates and they were already boarding so on the plane we went. Upon check in I had asked the agent to give me seats upfront as I had a close connection so she gave us row 1. The flight was delayed for half an hour to pull bags as a passenger was a no show at the gate. Finally we were off. We landed in Winnipegand were off and running to immigration went up to the officer and told her we were landing, she told me she will also be my processing officer as she wears both hats! There were only three officers there! She told me to collect my bags and wait in the office for her, as it would take a while :'(. We got the bags and waited. I called my husband told him we had land and was waiting, he was all excited as he was cooking up a storm as we were having friends over for my welcome home party. Finall Miss Immigration came in she said they were holding the flight for us and she would do her best to sapped up the process, she tried her best and she welcomed us, telling us our rights a PR, they hustled us thru to the West jet counters but we were late the flight had departed :'( They apologized profusely but they just couldn't wait any longer. I called my husband and told him, he was sooooo disappointed, but we lifted our spirits because the worst had past and we were landed!
. We booked into the Sheraton which was 2 mins from the airport, ordered room service and hunkered down of the night. We were out on the first flight the next morning, all my guest were coming over Sunday, my husband was right outside the door to meet us,we hugged kissed and collected our bags. We had to get a taxi for the bags! My husband had prepped for dinner, but he cannot cook rice and peas so home I came and headed straight into the kitchen to make sure everything was in order! Oh I received a beautiful bouquet of blue and purple flowers from hubby so into water and vase they went. After everything was in place I went to pretty up myself for my guests, they didn't stay too long as they knew we needed "quiet time". My husband stayed home on Monday as well as the quiet time continued..... So today I will be on the road getting everything sorted out. That is my landing story!
