My wife, 2 daugthers & myself have done our first landing in Canada on 10 March 2010. We exited Toronto on 22nd March 2010.

My wife, one daughter and myself are holding our respective PR cards with a date of expiry of 10 March 2015.

My second daughter has a PRTD issued on 04 March 2013 and having a date of expiry on 02 Sep 2013.

We plan to permanently re-locate to Canada on 15 August 2013.

Kindly advise us on our below queries:

1. On our arrival in Canada on 15 August 2013, will we be allowed to enter the country by the immigration officer?

2. Once we complete 2 years that is 730 days in Canada (without exiting the country)from our arrival date, will we be able to renew our PR cards?.
What is the approx time frame for the issuance of the renewal PR cards?

3. Once we complete 3 yrs (1095 days) in Canada (without exiting the country) from our arrival date. Will we be able to apply for our Canadian citizenship?.

Appreciate response at the earliest.

1) Yes.

2) Depends. You should be able to do as you've planned without any issues. There is a small (very small chance) you could be reported by immigration for failing to meet your residency obligation. If that happens, you will have to appear in front of a judge to aruge why you should be allowed to keep your PR status. However I think the chances of this happening to you are extremely low give you are re-entering Canada a year and a half before your PR card expiry. Processing time for renewed PR cards is currently 75 days. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp

3) Yes. Processing time is approximately two years.
