MY SPOUSE FRIEND WORKING CLASS IN NIGERIA WANT TO COME TO CANADA KINDLY ADVISE DO YU THINK HE SHOULD APPLY FOR A STUDENT VISA OR SKILLED WORKER..THE INFO I GATHERED WAS THAT HE MUST HAVE 1.5 MILLION IN HIS ACCOUNT FOR ONE YEAR BEFORE HE CAN APPLY FOR A SKILLED WORKER IS IT TRUE? WAT TYPE OF APPLICATION CAN HE APPLIED FOR AND HOW FAST WILL IT BE..

First go to this site and see if your Job is given in the List, if not you are not elligible to apply as Federal Skilled worker. But can only apply if you have a Job offer from Canada:

IF your Job is in the List, then check the below website and see if you have performed 70-80% of the given duties of that particular Job, enter the code you picked from the above List (that represents your job) and enter in the search:

IF you are elligible, then Download and read this guide:

Then take a Test to see if you make the 67 Points:

Then see the Check List for Documents:

This will give you a detailed and clear view of where you stand and what to arrange for.

If his/her occupation falls in the list of 29 occupations on CIC website then h/she can apply as FSW.

so how many years does it take to process.

As for proof of funds, please check above guide...Change it to your currency and see what is the value for the family members for you.
