Wow! What a question! I'm sorry that your world seems a bit troubled right now.

Have you landed yet? I mean, have you already arrived in Canada? You are a PR now and they can't kick you out of the country and send you back.

Are you saying that they want you to leave their home and go out on your own with nothing or do you have a job? Financial responsibility comes into play if you must collect welfare. Yes, the sponsor is supposed to provide for your basic necessities but it's kind of tricky to give you an answer without knowing your circumstances. If you collect welfare during the time the sponsor is still bound by the undertaking, the sponsor is required to repay that money to the government.

Your sponsor is obligated to provide for you for 10 years after you land - if s/he doesn't, and you collect social assistance, s/he is obligated to repay that to the Canadian government. They cannot send you back to the West Indies if you already have PR status. You are a Canadian permanent resident and, as such, you have the right to live and work in Canada as long as you maintain your permanent resident status - which means you have to live in Canada for two years of each five year period.

I don't think there's anything you can do to force them to continue to support you in their home - especially if you are not abiding by the "rules" of the house. You don't say how old you are now, but if you are living under their roof, you should be respecting their authority - whether they can "legally" send you back to the West Indies or not. Maybe your family can get some counseling to work through some of the problems it seems you might be having. Family is a terrible thing to waste.

They can kick you out since you are legally an adult but if you go and collect welfare, the Canadian sponsor will get billed for it and I am sure that will not improve your family relationship. Are you in school or working? If you are in school, you can get student loans and if you are working, you should be able to support yourself, no need to take welfare. The Canadian sponsor is responsible for you financially for 10 years after you become PR or when you turn 25 whichever happens sooner so in your case, when you turn 25.

dandrade, it seems like you got your answer here but I'll give my 2 cents anyways.

Yes, since you are 19 your father and step-mother can ask you to leave the house but they cannot send you back to the West Indies. Robsluv is right, try to work out the problems you have. If that isn't possible, try to find a job and get a little place of your own. If you can't find work and they still insist you leave you might have no choice but to collect welfare until you can get yourself on your own two feet. If you need to collect welfare, as mentioned here, your sponsor (in this case your step-mother) will have to re-pay the government back since she is responsible for you until you turn 25.
