Well Nicholas you are 100% correct.Infact I was about to say that why they are going to prioritize the processings of doctors when they are not going to let them work here .Infact sadly but honestly I want to say that here there are IMGs who are driving cabs, working on gas stations, security guards and doing other odd jobs.Infact I know doctors here who passed all the qualifying exams with a very high percentage (as much as 98%) but still they are not able to get a job.

In my view doctors should try to analyze this whole scenario before deciding to come here. The situation is worst for experienced ones whereas fresh graduates might have a chance to get into their system after a long struggle of many years or so.

That's funny... I don't agree with fast tracking any group of immigrants for the sole reason that other immigrants have had to wait in line(and still waiting) and they should just take their turn in line. A teacher who has been waiting in line wants their application processed quickly as well.

Anyway, I think the other issue is language. I've heard about people who wrote the exams 2, 3 times but did not pass because of language. More Canadians are getting their medical degrees abroad and it will be good to see how long it takes to get them integrated into the system vs foreign-trained doctors.

I cannt understand why kenney is so worried about doctors or engineers driving taxis. In india also some of the engineers are govt pilots say Railway is recruiting engineers as engine drivers .even many engineers donot get jobs in their fields of study and are forced to do survival jobs or do their own buiness then why engineers in canada can not do these out of their field of study jobs. All doctors in india are not well set in their profession and those who are not well set here are only trying their luck in canada. Doctors who could not get settled in their profession may have been migrated to canada. All doctors are not getting Govt jobs in india and many brilliant doctors are rejected for post graduate addmissions due to reservation policy where doctors from reserved category getting 10% marks get addmission in MS where as doctors with 90% marks are not given addmission.Only those Doctors in india caan get settled in theier profession whose background is similar or well to do financially. Graduate doctors without solid financial support from family can never be satisfied in india and hence they decide to immigrate.

Personally I think even the notion of retrospectively applying new rules to previously received applications is an outrage.

It's not just the processing fees - but there is the dozens (sometimes hundreds) of hours of time spent preparing the application and gathering documents, all the additional costs such as IELTS tests, notarization, PCCs etc. A perfectly eligible application can be received, and then 1 month later Kenney and his laugh-a-minute comedy show of an immigration department can just change the rules and fail those applicants.

What's next? Retrospectively failing people who already got their permanent resident visas?

The way he's going it'll take citizenship to actually be safe. But then again, with this guy, who knows.....

Totally agree with you, if they change the rules like with the applications of pre-2008 how can you be sure that they're not going to put you on hold for 10 years to reject you later, if they cannot commit their promises, then why trust in the immigration system?

All of you that think are safe because you're post-2008 are jeopardized too with the continues changes in rules, do you think you are safe of been slashed from the log? think again... it's sad to see that most of the people post-2008 are "happy" and jumping in foot thinking "hey, they're going to slash all the pre-2008, we are going to get our visa faster, poor fools, but I'm safe!", now you see that they could do that to everybody, help us to fight against this.
