Hello everyone,
I have been reading in this (very great and informative) forum for the last couple days now and noticed that a lot of you recommend the Outland application instead of inland, mainly because you are allowed to leave the country while the application is being processed.

A bit about me first: I'm a 21 year old German and met my boyfriend 2 1/3 years ago while traveling. I moved to Canada to live with him in January 2012 on a working holiday visa, found a good job and my employer got me a LMO on which I have been working now since last December and which expires in December 2014.

My question now: If I do an Outland application will I be able to keep working on my LMO or would I have to leave the country, get a visitor visa and then apply for the LMO again?

I couldn't find anything about someone that's on a LMO and is applying outland, most of you are usually just on a visitor visa but I'd really like to keep working while my PR is being processed.

I hope someone can help me!

Thanks leazy :)

You do not have to leave Canada. A sponsorship application does not invalidate your LMO, nor your work permit.

You are in a good situation with a work permit valid for about 18 months and an outland application. You will be the envy of many people.

Indeed - the reason why most people are on visitor visa is because it's difficult to get an employer to do the LMO, so they are stuck in Canada on a visitor visa not being able to work - but the combination of having an LMO still valid for 18 months, and already qualifying as Common Law so you can start the PR application is the best combination :)
Good luck,
Sweden
