Despite the glitches, there was great improvement in processing time. Processing time went down from 10 years to around 6 months during the tenure of the conservatives! Remember Liberal created the many years of backlog and 3-10 years wait times. Those that applied for permanent residence in the year 2000 up till 2012 can relate well with what I am talking about.

Wait till they start taking in refugees and families members (parents and siblings), skilled workers applications would likely be relegated as those ones would be considered high priority.

I am talking from experience.

Well it was 2004 when Conservative was already in power. I was one of those application returned by CIC. I submitted it on December 2004 and My AOR then was March 20, 2005 and it was the last month of processing when CIC stopped our application. Imagine the last guy here in forum was AOR March 12, 2005 just for medical update and eventually got his PPR after a year. It was Jason Kenney the immigration tzar. Applicant from India were mostly affected. Our hope was ended when we received our refund in 2012. We waited almost 8 years hoping to reconsider our application but rest is history.

This statement "the party did not disclose that how they are going to do that but they had also pledged to provide temporary residents and the foreign students, the credit for time spent in Canada while applying for the PR" gives some hope for CEC applicants.

I hope the government can give chance to them again. Many were affected by the 4 in - 4 out rule this year, so just maybe -- a flicker of hope that they will be given a chance again to come to Canada again to continue their work. Or is this just a dream away?

Can someone help me here please on what this credit thing actually is for PR? I have been here for 18 months in Canada so far on two different IEC working holiday visas. Will this credit thing help me for when I apply for PR through FSW?
