Still no update on cic ecas...what's happening..

You should have submitted the OWP application together with your PR application;you get your OWP after the first stage approval. It might not be too late to apply for the OWP now, so send one ASAP.

March 01, 2010 - Started processing (thank God!)

cic recieved on 14th jan and
stated to process on 22nd March.
single case/ON

my friend told me today applicants who made their Pr applications in 2010 dont have to face medical exam, is that true? I heard about the government proposals,
does anybody know when LIC new laws going to be started?

If you haven't been checked (the way they are proposing the check up to be extensive now), then you will still undergo the medical exam.

Effective April 1, 2010, live-in caregivers working in Canada under the Live-in Caregiver Program:

•have two options for calculating their work experience to be eligible to apply for permanent residence:
◦24 months of authorized full-time employment, or
◦a total of 3,900 hours of authorized full-time employment;
•have four years from their date of arrival to complete the employment requirement to be eligible for permanent residence under the Program; and
•no longer need to undergo the standard mandatory requirement for a second medical exam when applying for permanent residence.

September 12, 2009 - Mail-in complete PR Application + Open permit
September 21,2009 - Received in CIC
October 26,2009 - Started processing Application
March 29,2010 - Received Open permit and medical instructions

i have also aaplied for my pr and OWP on september 27.probably i will get it in this week .
i have few questions if u dont mind to answer.
do they send it through courier or mail it. and one more thing i want to know what is the next step do we have to go through interview or what and how long it take to get pr after OWP.
