I desperately need help from you guys!

I submitted inland PR application of Canada with China passport last week. I am holding a 6 year long visitor visa.
I suddenly received a letter that my Singaporean citizenship has been approved, which I applied 7 month ago.
I am in a dilemma now cos I really want Singapore citizenship, but I need to surrender China citizenship and passport in order to get Singapore citizenship and passport.
I can travel in and out of Canada with Singapore passport without a visa. But I ve no idea how long I can stay in Canada each time.
So
1. Can I change citizenship after submission of Canada PR application? How?
2. what's going to happen leaving Canada with the visitor visa on China passport, then coming back with Singapore passport without a visa.

Hi Kellyxin,

To be honest, I can't imagine that CIC wouldn't be able to work with you on this to meet a successful end. That being said, I would strongly advise contacting CIC with your particular case and inquiring which steps to take.

Best of luck!

That wouldn't usually be any problem BUT when you apply inland you are supposed to stay in Canada for the whole time the application is being processed. Leaving Canada can cause your application to fail.

If you think you may want to leave Canada while your application is being processed you should have applied outland - you can do this even if you are staying in Canada. However, there are pros and cons to applying inland or outland (this has been covered elsewhere on the forums).

If you need to leave for awhile, and if you want to take up your Singaporean citizenship it might be easier to withdraw your application then reapply BUT you should really talk to CIC first and get their advice.
