Just starting to Consider applying for FSW - is it too late?

I'm 29, British.. I am just about to start filling in documents... I estimate it will take about one month - submit by September?

Question I have is, am I too late?

I am strong in NOC 2171 and have 70 points.

Hi,

first step is to check and see if your NOC is still open or cap already reached.

Where is that? on the official site it states 29... but the way people are going on in this forum it appears sooo popular!!

it is a popular NOC and it should fill fairly quickly.
you can check that on the CIC website but keep in mind the number it shows is only for applications they have opened and there will be people ahead of you so if the number is close to their targeted cap it will be risky to apply.

I am now considering NOT applying given the amount of interest on this site alone for this NOC.

Would I be better off waiting for the 2015 Express Entry system?

My question is, if I apply in August but then with to apply for 2015 again - would that be detrimental...?

You may still want to try. Check the global spreadsheet with NOC caps filling estimates, consider official CIC data taking into account they have most likely processed applications received during one week of May. My own calculations and rough estimates are as follows:
29 NOC 2171 applications filed according to the official CIC information which equals to about 4.8~5 applications with this NOC code per day so it will take about 1000/5/30 = at least 6 months to fill the cap. You can make it by Sept-Oct.

HI, do you guys have any idea about 3012- registered nurses cap. ive seen from the site its still 7/1000. Im submitting by October since im saving for my proof of fund need some bucks to fill it up to $14,800.. still way to go.. i hope by the end of October the caps are still not reached. I dont want to sell my car not even my property to have POF in an instant...

you must try, nothing to loose, if (in worst case , cap reached), you will bear only postage charges - one way,

fee will be safe.
so you must try.

kindly advise me also, is there any other way to check the most current updated CAP as I am applying to NOC 2241 Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians and the cap is the same for one moth =2 which looks worried
as I wont be able to send the application before 2nd week of Aug
plz help :-X

you can check the threads in this forum to see how many applicants have already submitted their applications under NOC 2241 but keep in mind the only official information is the one that comes from CIC,its been long since their last update so keep checking regularly for the most up to date info possible.
