Hi,

My partner and I have just started looking to emmigrate to Canada from the UK. I am a skilled technician working in the manufacturing industry, and my girlfriend is a geography and mathematics teacher. I've applied to an agency called 'Immigration unit'. It seems very professional, however, I have heard many stories about people getting ripped off by unscrupulous agencies who promise much but deliver very little. Can anyone give me advice on how likely it is that my girlfriend and I would be accepted to work in Canada given our qualifications. Also, has anyone heard of the 'Immigration Unit' and if so, how good are they. Can you recommend any agency that might be a better prospect, and can you provide any other sound advice?

Thanks for reading,

Craig

1. Have you read www.cic.gc.ca (offical gov't site)? Have you done the evaluation there to see if you qualify? A lot of people DIY the application, but if you want to hire a consultant/lawyer they must be a member of CSIC or the Canadian Bar before CIC will deal with them. The sponsor of this site is in the Immigration business, you may wish to consult with him.
