1. Were your family/parents/siblings against you marrying a foreigner?
Nope, not at all. My husband is British. They really just bother him about Corry Street (which he doesn't watch) and fuss over his accent.
2. Were they scared for your two to first meet?
They weren't, we were. Not scared, just nervous. We both knew what we were, but there is always that doubt that maybe it won't translate in person.
3. Are they strict on cultures, religion, etc.? Did you go by them and if not how did your family react to you not doing so?
We aren't religious at all. He was good at beer pong, that was a prerequisite with my cousins.
4. How does your family feel about your partner?
They love him! When he arrived here, it was like he was instantly part of the family and had always been here. It was fabulous.
5. How did you tell them that you were engaged or getting married?
We called. We got engaged just a few days before he left to go home to England the second time, we didn't have a lot of time.
AND JUST FOR CUTENESS
6. How did your partner propose and what was the ring like? (pictures are nice too if you have any)
It was actually almost exactly a year ago. He took me to Niagara Falls, it was -27 degrees outside, I pretty much thought he was insane. We were standing around talking and taking some photos of the massive icicles, and I kept begging him to leave but he just stood there staring at me. I said "WILL IM FREEZING, LETS GO", he got flustered and said "okay fine, I better do this or we are both going to freeze and die". He got down on one knee in the slush and gave a big speech (shivering) about how I am the only one for him and all that jazz, and poped the question! I said yes of course. Then we went grocery shopping.
