Just got file no, but i am not happy

I just got a letter from Buffalo with a file no., that says my application will be affected by the new rules, but they don't know how it will be affected, because they didn't get any new instructions yet........but as I understood I am not eligible to be processed according to those new rules published at CIC.

They will then send your application back if you are not eligible.

I applied in late April this year at the Buffalo NY office....What I am not happy with is why the officers hasn't got new instructions to process applications after the new rules announced? I mean they should tell me if I am eligible or not, not to issue me a file no. instead at this moment.

How could they? The Minister didn't issue the instructions until 28/11/08, you knew the rules were changing as of 28/02 /08.

they sent me the letter at December 5, and I got it 3 days later. They mentioned the new rules in the letter, and told me they didn't get instructions about how to deal with the new rules, so don't ask them any questions and just wait...........what I want to say is the new immigration minister was not prepared well for the new rules. it makes more sense if the new rules didn't backdate.

I share your view, but then, What can we do? It's just like a dog that has to listen and obey its master's command no matter how bad or good it is treated. Good Luck!!
