Just saw that I got DM on my status!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I remember correctly, they send me a letter for my passport but I'm with my husband right now visiting in Canada. Should I send them an email to send the letter here? I'm not worried about the original address I gave the CIC because I lived with my parents before coming here, so its fine if the CIC sends the letter to their house. I don't want to confuse them and have the letter get lost or something (I've heard horror stories about that).

Also, what happens now and what should I expect?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I assume you are American based on your avatar? So it's highly unlikely there will be any sort of passport request. They might request copies of your passport pages, but since you don't need a visa they don't need your passport.

If you can receive the COPR safely in the US, go that route as it's apparently a very big hassle to change your address in ecas.

And congrats!

Aquakitty is right about the address change - it's a complete pain. You are better off having the COPR just go to your parents and they can overnight it to you. And since I too assume you are American, there won't be a passport request; they'll just send the COPR.

I haven't gotten a DM yet or anything, but happened upon this thread! We moved to another apartment in Canada back in September, late August, and notified them of our new address. They had the correct address when they sent us that EMail asking for my FBI record and a couple other things. Should I be worried about our address change? What exactly makes it a pain to change?

Lots of horror stories of the address not actually changing in ecas, leaving people wondering if they will get their documents. I never personally had this issue, but I've read it multiple times. If they already sent you correspondence showing your new address, you should be good.

Thanks very much for your help! I hope that they have it correct. I think it would be extremely difficult if they sent anything to our old apartment - the landlord there wasn't very, uh, on top of things.
