I'm sponsoring my American husband through an outland app to Buffalo. We've pretty much fully completed it but I have a few questions before we actually send it in.

1. I'm having a hard time finding fee info. I found the application fee calculator which tells me I need to pay $550. But I can't figure out how/where to pay this. HEEELP!

2. My husband had his medical done and I told him to make sure he brought back a copy of the Appendix C since we needed to include it in our application. The DMP didn't give him a copy because he told my husband that he will send it with his paperwork. He is trying to contact the DMP to send him a copy.. but what if the doctor already sent it in? What to do?!

3. My husband did the FBI police clearance over a month ago and is still waiting for it. I heard somewhere that it's okay to submit our app without it, and then send it in once he gets it? Is that correct?

4. Am I perfectly correct that the app gets sent to Buffalo? In the guide it says to send it to the Case Processing Center in Mississauga but it doesn't state if that applies to all applicants for just inland? Once again, I'm confused! It's really annoying that CIC is so vague about everything. I guess that's what you helpful people are here for =)

5. Lastly -- WHO sends in the app? Me as the sponsor, or him as the applicant? We were together on New Years and we printed and signed all forms together, but he took it back to Arizona with him to finalize a few things.

If everything goes as planned, it'll be in the mail within the next 2 weeks and then waiting really begins!

1. The total fee for a spouse is $1,040.00 including the Right of Permanent Residence Fee. Seriously, pay it upfront if you can and avoid the waste of time waiting for them to ask for it. Pay here: https://eservicesak.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en Select Mississauga as the processing office, NOT Buffalo.

2. As long as the DMP gave your husband the Copy 2 of the medical form that he filled out as proof he completed the medical, the Appendix C can be filled out again, you don't need a copy of the one the doctor saw.

3. You can, but ensure you enclose a cover note and proof that you applied for it and are still waiting for it. In general, it is best to include all your required documentation upfront, but some persons have had luck getting away with that.

4. No, the application goes to CPC-Mississauga for sponsor approval (you) and then CPC-M will pass it to Buffalo for applicant approval. Don't send it directly to Buffalo, they will return it.

5. It is going to an address in Canada, if he gets everything together nothing says he can't send it directly to CPC-M, but if it needs further documents from you then he should send it to you so you can send it to CPC-M.
