1. TATKAL is just a method which will help Citizens get Passports in quicker time, by paying a higher fees.
2. If what you said is true, then there is no meaning for the TATKAL System itself! Nobody would go for the System.

Don't get carried away by what your consultant has told you. If you are in doubt just go to the Passport Office Website (or to the Passport Office in person) and check out the truth.

I have a query friends. My present residential address is different from the address mentioned in the Passport. If I apply for a PCC from Reginal passport office/Passport Seva Kendra:

1. How much time will be taken by Passport office to issue PCC?
2. Is a physical verification of the present residential address conducted by the Passport office?

Hi Minhas82,

There are two ways to address this situation.

1. Get the PCC from the respective Police Stations where your previous Address is (as in your Passport) and from the Station that corresponding to your present Address. Provide both of PCCs to the CHC.

(or)

2. Get the Address changed in the Passport first and then apply for the PCC from that Police Station under whose jurisdiction your present Address falls.

Important : Check which address you have provided to the CHC - if this is your previous address then the PCC for the previous Address should suffice.

As for time for completion of the PCC issuance is concerned, you should enquire with your local authorities. In our Locality, the PCC issuance normally takes 2-4 working days.

There is no/none at all difference in Tatkal or the normal passport. These consultants are just misleading you.

Guys I have got MR on 6th sep. The covering letter says that documents to be submitted in 45 days whereas medical forms which i received today have 60day deadline.

Can anyone clarify on this.

Secondly i have submitted my passport for renewal and police enquiry is pending. Then late i will have to get PCC. Could anyone clarify on this that what are my options.

I taked to DMP and they say hat they need valid passport must for doing medicals.
Will appreciate your help on this.

2. You need to wait for your Passport before taking the Medicals. Check with your Local Police Station to expedite your Police Clearance, for Passport issuance.
