That is my conclusion too: there is no logic or consistency to it at all. Coming from IT background, I could imagine how simple this is to confirm all application details versus other agencies' databases: CBSA, RCMP, CRA, language test centre, etc. That could even happen automatically in parts!It is so random and impossible to determine for applicants to determine who will get FP or not and who ends up being in the time consuming security screening.. In my case I got FP request in March and BGC was completed n Apr(about 5 weeks)... During the eligibility period I have travelled outside of Canada 12 times..to countries such as Germany, US, Saudi, UAE and India
During the PR application time I was in security screening for 8 months...
Yet after receiving my FP in early March (confirmed by RCMP), nothing has happened. I don't see literally anything particular about my case that would require any extra steps on the way..
