Other than a little peace of mind? I don’t know. Maybe the fact that your application has been scanned tells you didn’t make a mistake and your application won’t be returned as incomplete. Again not an expert, just a guess.

Just the peace of mind that your application was received and some movement has started on the application.

Also what the IRCC lady mentioned was that the temp number starts with a XF(9digits) and once the application is checked for completeness the X will be removed and the rest of the number would become your Application number. Thats what she said, not sure if thats the case with all the applications. Below is how she explained it to me. Hope that's helpful!

They advise to use one which comes with the kit. yes I had to phone them

even I was not that lucky. I called them but IRCC agent denied to provide us any information and temporary number of our file. Just replied in an attitude that they are processing only March applications .... disheartening

It depends on who the agent is. You can always call back!
