As far as I know after 1 year all security checks expire , so they might ask you to do it again . Not sure though
Thanks Alex. I have mailed them too. Hopefully not needed again. One it's a hassle getting to one of these locations plus the cost of getting the fingerprints, which should have been ideally coverreved in the initials costs. Just my thoughts

IMO, Alex is right. Since IRCC sent you a second fingerprint request, there is a very high possibility that you would be receiving a test invite soon after you submit second fingerprint. All in all, someone picked your file and started working on it.

Goodluck with the next steps.

Actually we received the test and it was completed yesterday. The fingerprint request came just 3 days ago, long after the test invite. Have to agree, work is happening, though didn't understand why fingerprints are to be repearex. Guess we'll do it nevertheless. Thanks folks

Has anyone received a request to redo fingerprints. The initial request was done in Dec 2019. Now received the second request. Fingerprints don't expire like photo right?. It sure does cost a bit to do it a second time, and unfortunately not many locations are open...any thoughts...
Fingerprints dont expire but it looks like the fingerprints are not the ones being sent to cic. rcmp sends your background/criminal records, not the prints, hence records have expiry date of 1 year.

Its just bad luck that only few candidates are being requested and they have to do it again if oath is not completed within 1 year of last prints submitted. This time its fast with online processes hence you wont need to give it again for sure as you would get your oath by next month if you complete the prints soon.

Oh that has been my question ever since and no one answered me.

In my case, we were asked to do fingerprints on 19 Feb 2020 and IRCC received them first week of March (RCMP issued them on 21 February). I and my wife gave test on 23 January. So you are saying that if we dont receive Oath invite before 21 February 2021, we will have to do fingerprints again....that looks like a tight race against time....am I right?

That is nice to know. Thanks.

Finally received my online test, attempted and passed a few days ago.
17/20 score, I was 99% sure about 14 answers were correct while my best guesses on the remaining 6... Somehow got lucky for 3 guesses.
I would strongly suggest everyone to read Canada Discovery book over and over and practice some test samples available online.
Take the test seriously.

How long would it take to get formal notice on the test and oath, any idea?

Congratulations!!!!

You have made it. I am so glad for you.

There is no formal confirmation of test, if everything is good, the next step is Oath invite.

Processing of Test to Oath varies from office to office.

Good luck !

It’s so frustrating, I sent in my application June 2019 and last time I heard from them is oct 2019 after I sent in my biometrics right away; no update since then, still waiting to do my test. My MP said they are waiting for testing to resume to send me a request, still waiting.

I also want to drop email to my MP. What all info I should pass on to him so that he can follow my case.

Anyone else like me did not receive a test invitation yet?
sent June 2019

not even fingerprints....

Did they ask to forward the fingerprints and results to Vancouver office (same as for the first fingerprints request)? Or the second one is to be sent to local office?
