They accept by post for sure as i have seen posts mailing the application.

Thanks a lot. The thing is, I don’t want to send my original certificate by mail I am assuming that they will return the certificate with the passport, right? but still hopefully someone in this forum can share his/her experience. Thanks a lot!

Yes they will return all original documents with the passport

I am waiting for in-person/non-urgent services to resume precisely for this reason
They do return the original documents and passports (sometimes in separate parcels), but I don't want to take the risk of my certificate getting lost in the mail. Replacing it is massively annoying.

I had my virtual oath on 3rd July and received my certificate on 13th July at my home address, despite me asking them to send it to the mailing address since I was in the middle of a move.

ya i dont understand why they need original as if they cant check in the system in this electronic world.

You are supposed to sign the form on the day of the ceremony. and then email it back to the exact email address that sent it to you.

Yes that’s normal. My ECAS did not update until I completed the ceremony last week. From Citizenship test done to complete on ECAS

Hi ,

I have applied for my citizenship last year on June 18,2019 from Mississauga , Ontario

Application Received on June 21st , 2019
AOR : August 29th , 2019
In Process ECAS : Oct 08th, 2019

after this no update. I called up Citizenship contact center and they said the delay is due to COVID and no problem with my application .

I am getting a bit worried because my PR is expiring in Sept 2020 . Is anyone in same situation. Surprised to see many people from Mississauga are getting Oath Ceremony request

I am also the same situation like you. Added to that myself and my son Passport got expired last month. But I applied for renewal as well.
We applied on June 15th 2019 from Brampton.

On August 20, I received invite for virtual oath from Calgary. The oath was scheduled on September 3rd which went well. I sent the oath form right away. Today (September 4th) I see on ECAS that my status changed to "COMPLETE".

Do you know or how can one know if the certificate has been mailed off, I want to look out for that important document
