My study permit is still valid till August 2019 and my work permit is going to expire same day as my study permit. But, my current job have nothing to do with school and hospital. But still under health care, It’s a residential support worker and I don’t know if that restriction apply to it

My best guess is that you should be able to continue working there under the conditions of your study permit.
I gave schools and hospitals as an example. It can affect other areas as well. Really any workplace/activity the Canadian government deems sensitive to public health. Whether your current job even falls under that category is something only the relevant government authority or maybe your current employer can answer.
Best advice I can give is to call IRCC and ask whether you can still continue to work there under your study permit.
I am wondering this week no body gets any approval for work permit,seems like they stopped doing any application or they are in vacation,... don’t know what to say..
It’s kind of strange to not be getting many updates this week.
Two weeks ago, when people were posting they’d received confirmation their OWP was approved, I was looking at the dates of their submissions and realized that I should be getting something soon, if, and it’s a big if, IRCC process the applications in chronological order. We don’t know if this is the case, or if there are other factors that influence what gets processed and when. They make no guarantees, so we had no idea.
By the time I had mine approved, everything pointed towards the approvals being completed in chronological order. People who had their OWP application received 3 days before mine, had theirs approved 3 days before, etc.
When mine was approved, I was really happy, but not shocked, as looking at the dates of others on here, I was kind of expecting it based on the experiences of others. After mine was approved, a few others had theirs approved too about the same time, almost identical waiting periods of a little under 3 months from start to finish, give or take a few days.
This week, however, we’ve not had many updates at all. I know there’s some users here that had their applications received before some of us who’ve already had their OWPs approved. Most of us from last week’s approvals have our hard copies and SIN numbers now too.
I can’t think what the cause of the delays in yours, and others, could be. Maybe try the call centre on Monday, even if it isn’t quite 4 months yet, they may be able to help. I hope you get some good news on this soon.
My application was received June /20 and I called up today,, all she said is u have to wait to October 20
Question in relation to my wife's OWP. Should she still extend her travel visa? It's set to expire on Nov 18th. Does the temporary residency status that she's now gotten from her OWP cover her saying here, or should we still extend it?

Whether your wife is visa exempt or requires one to travel to Canada, the OWP is legal status to live and work in Canada until its expiry. No need to extend any visitor visa or other form of temporary status. As far I’m aware, you can only hold one form of temporary residence at a time, so any visitor status she has previously would be invalid/irrelevant, now she has an OWP.
Nothing to worry about. Compare with my timeline (received Jun 06, OWP backdated to May 30, OWP approved Sep 18). So our timelines are 20 days apart and my approval was 10 days ago.

I am tired of waiting and I have good job offer that will expired on oct/2 and really can’t afford to lose it... and I seen lots of people same timeline and they had it 2 weeks ago and plus my wife is Canadian citizen and I am USA citizen , I thought it will be a little faster but I think not.
I was checking on July inland and find 2 cases got their OWP yesterday one of them his application was received on July/5 and the other one on July /3
It sucks to see applications received after yours being approved, but if IRCC quote 4 months as the lead time, anything approved prior to that is a bonus. Some of us got lucky with 3 month approvals, the July applicants being approved are too. I believe that there are some May applicants waiting for approval too.
As for your job offer, I’d maybe try negotiating an extension with the employer. Being honest, there’s no way you’ll be able to start by the 2nd October. Even if you got your approval on Monday, it takes anywhere from 7-14 days to receive the hard copy OWP in the mail. You can get your SIN number in person in less than 10 minutes at Service Canada. Just make sure you have your passport and work permit with you. It’s a really easy process.
