Hi All,

I just received COPR email this morning to submit passport within 30 days, I am planning to travel to India from US in 2 weeks and will be in India for 2 weeks. This is making me nervous as if I send my passports to Ottawa office for COPR visa I might not be able to get them back in time for my travel to India, similarly I will be in India for 2 weeks and might not get the passports back in time from India office. What should I do, is there an option to request additional time to submit passports, or change visa office to the one in US (I live in Washington DC).

Any suggestions

Thanks

You can ask for additional time. There is no need to worry. Just reply to the email and also send email on Ottawa email ID.

It takes 4 - 6 months to get PR. You all need to relax. For those of who who know you are definitely going and you've been approved stop moaning and be patient, most of us dont even know if we will get accepted.
Each stage is different. When you know your file is approved but....
Easy to advise difficult to follow
So please let us moan in peace

Which Visa Office ?

Guys I have a theory. I feel there is a way to crack the code for understanding CIC processing times.

I have noticed that most changes on any application happens close to "Due Date" mentioned under 'Assignment' section on our GCMS notes.

Although, I feel this due date is not for the application but an indication/reminder/snooze set by the Assigning Agent for the next assigned agent. Meaning, if someone is in IP1 and the Due Date mentioned on their Application is after next 3 weeks, it is highly likely to get an update around that time. So on and so forth for other stages.

The key is, if a lot of GCMS notes from a particular stream is gathered, we can know an average time required for each stage (ofcourse by the virtue of normalization) I know most people will be skeptical in sharing something as personal as GCMS notes. But may be people who have got PPRs.

Just a thought.
I think I read somewhere on this thread that the “Due date” is the date your application is supposed to be looked at again so it makes sense to see changes around it, but then again, it’s IRCC, maybe tomorrow “due date” has a complete different meaning :D

Hi Cansha,

I got an email from Ralph stating that my file is approved on 8th Nov and is currently at CIO Sydney,NS. Shall I email CIO Sydney to ask when can I expect PPR ? Kindly suggest.

When you don't know the outcome of your application, you can continue to live the life you are living but if you know your application has been approved then you can't plan ahead based on your current situation. Without ppr neither we are able to plan our moves based on current life nor based on life in Canada! All work/personal plans are in jeopardy.

Buddy there are so many here in same condition. If you want you can email them. I'm not sure if it helps or not.

Yeah, I had in mind that the definitions may change, when I wrote that piece...but you are well aware of the ghost of desparation (not the one that knocks your application :p)
