I will speculate three more things on this one. After re-reading the email this is my guess.

1. The email says the progress bar shows the time elapsed since we received your application. Now we need to see whether they use AOR date to do so or R10 check date. My guess is they will still be using AOR date.

2. The last line is "We’ll let you know when the progress bar is available for your application." It appears to me that this update may not be available for all applications at one go. It may appear for only certain kind of applications. If that is not the case not sure why they would put this line in email. It may mean nothing.

3. "It will give you an estimated completion date based on our latest estimated processing times.". I think we need to keep an eye whether they are planning to update the estimated processing time. It has been showing 6 months since beginning of the year. It may be an attempt of changing this "6 month" window to something else as they move to 2019.

More than anything else I will be keeping an eye on the processing time on 12 Dec and hope and pray they just don't move the timeline to something else.

Yes I read about that I guess,& I got the impression then that PR applications (via express entry) are not included... But, when I clicked yesterday on (processing times) the clickable one in the email..and when directed to the CIC page clicked onto "why we are changing processing times".. they mentioned that in July 2018 they changed the way of showing the processing times for some PR applications..and that it would be more accurate...etc, So um not sure will it really work for those before July, um not sure, let us see what will happen and if it would be of any real benefit

No it's not just you. Many people that have had their applications approved like you didn't get the email. Which is a good thing if you ask me. I believe you'll get your PPR any moment from now

"Far away from getting approved"... hmm ,those whose applications are" yet to be approved" are not necessairly "far away from being approved"..have some mercy on all those who received the e-mail, including yourself

Officially 6 months today, approved since mid October, no ppr, no ghosts, no progress bar email.....what will next week bring?

I have been waiting for so long that somehow the magic of the moment of actually getting the PPR mail has been lost...

Another approved case that didn't receive the e-mail, my theory may not be "completely false" afterall. Maybe just slightly exaggerated

I believe that it will be available for all PR applications. If it had to be only for some categories then CIC won’t send emails to everyone unnecessarily with the info that isn’t meant for them. It won’t take more than few clicks to filter application and extract only relevant email addresses to send this progress bar info.

Did anyone check their profiles after the progress bar email? I got the progress bar email early hours IST and I checked the profile now. It says profile updated. Was wondering if it is a 'ghost update' vs just an update due to the progress bar email

Thanks for noting this. I checked my profile after seeing your post and I was pleasantly surprised to see that I have now moved to IP2 after nearly 6 months. (P.S. I was in 'Review required'.)

That’s completely false. I have got the email but my application is approved. It has nothing to do with approved or not as it will tell you status which I am sure also includes your passport stamp and change of status to approved after getting passport stamped.

Do you mean your application is approved and you currently are waiting for PPR e-mail?
