Hello all. I have an important question. My husband (PA) is planning to land in Canada in a few days. In the documents required for landing, it says proof of funds but since it’s his first time in Canada he does not have a canadian bank account and he’s only planning to bring CAD10,000. Would that be enough? What should he do?

(I am his sponsor and when applying for PR, I gave CIC a bank statement but I’m out of the country at the moment and can not get an official statement from the bank. Should I print out my bank statement and give it to him just in case? )

Considering you are (one of) the first person from June 2017 to get CoPR I don't think many June applicants will have knowledge of this since we haven't reached that stage yet. You will get more help if you post this question in a thread about landing or if you create a new thread.

There is no set time...it depends on your VO.

Check the spreadsheet to get some ideas, but it all depends. Good luck!

I was actually wondering about this, and it seems that he could bring more cash, but he needs to declare it on the Decleration Form you get on the plane, and if it's a fairly large sum, he better have some supporting documents explaining the origin of the money. (sold my car, house, etc.)

It terms of what is enough, I was actually checking that too, this might help, but it relates to Express Entry and skilled immigrants...so not exactly what we are looking for, but maybe 15,500 would suffice?

FYI, I think the most important form he must fill before entering is the:
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/bsf186-eng.html
and if he has more stuff to bring at a later time add this to the mix:
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/bsf186a-eng.html

Remember, you need pictures for all the jewelry apparantly and you need TWO copies of each form.

Hi everyone,
Our application was received on 28th June. AOR1 2nd Aug, same day we received request for Schd A & PCC which we uploaded in a week. But GIC still shows documents uploaded and we have 4 lines in ECAS.
1 File received
2. Started processing file on 8th Sept 3.Correspondence sent on Aug 2, provide the documents if not provided yet
4. Medical received

I'm skeptical if our documents were received. Is there anyone else who has 4 lines in ECAS?

Hi, these 4 lines are from PA's ECAS, i'm guessing.
Seems like your application has been transferred to the VO and they started processing the application on 8th Sept.
and no, we also have just 4 lines. Our application is also in process at VO.

We got approval for TRV. Showed significant ties back home like business registration, bank accounts. We indicated that PA has no intention of overstaying because we are aware it could jeopardize the PR application; and it would be our first Christmas holidays together. Got the approval after 16 days.
Hi I have a question regarding TRV. Did you guys book a return ticket for a visit to canada?
Also, I know of someone who applied for TRV for his wife, and once his wife was in Canada, they ended up transferring the application of sponsorship to Canada. Do you have any information regarding this?

yes, these lines are from PA ECAS..
What's you GIC account says regarding additional documents? In our account it's still showing documents are uploaded. It never changed to reviewed or not required.
