Hi all, do we have to declare our unpaid internship during the eligiblity period? It was all unpaid, i just went there to learn things on my own. It has no record

I guess you don't have to but in my case I did..I wrote it as 'Unpaid Internship'. Since it has no record, it's on you how you want to report it I guess

I am just concerned because it doesnot count as employment? Because employments are usually when you get paid. I had no intention of working with the company in future- they neither paid me, nor i did i ask.

I would declare it. The point of this application is to prove that you were physically present in Canada. Declaring your internship is an excellent way to do so as it proves you were here. They could not care less if it is unpaid volunteering or a 6-digit CEO salary. I even declared unfinished college courses which I quit after two months and brought proofs of enrollment to interview - the point was to show I was here, not that I am an "excellent" student.

It was before i landed in canada as a PR? Do i should write it? And it was during my degree. I am just writing it so that there is no missing information. what do you recommend?

I see - then it is less important. If there is space, I would still declare.

Congratulations! Did you receive the invite through mail only? Or did you have your status updated on ECAS as well? I am in a similar situation as you (Applied from Mississauga, in process since July and still waiting)

Thank you in advance for your reply :)
