I have not done the test yet
that's why I am so surprised and lost
I called them all day today. it says the call volume is too high and hangs up
I don't know what to do!
You will probably be asked to take oath right after your test. We had an applicant in July group who did that. He also got oath invite without any test - he did everything on the same day. Lucky him!

Please update our timeline we have received our Oath Invite, received on November 3rd (ECAS) with an Oath Date of November 29th 2017

sent you a notice on November 1, 2017 to appear and write the citizenship test on November 15, 2017....:);)

Please read the book thoroughly at least 2-3 times as the questions are pretty tricky. The are testing your knowledge of English along with knowledge about Canada. You prepare using the links suggested by others only after the reading the book once.
I'd say this depends on how people learn. I never read the book at all. I just took the online tests over and over and over until I'd get 20/20 every time within 1-2 mins. Repetition and hands on is how I learn. Would never have got 19/20 on the exam if I just read the book. The 1 question I got wrong was not on any of the online tests I took.

Edit: Yikes. I'm noticing other people in Calgary who took their tests on October 17 are getting Oath invites for December 8th.

When I had the post-exam interview I let the citizenship judge know I had Final Exams between December 7th and 12th and asked not to be booked for an oath on those days. I doubt they'll do another in December so hoping for January oath. If they wind up booking me anyways for the 8th at least I'll have plenty of time to beg and plead to have my Final Exam that day delayed.

Thanks Stef, I heard similar reason from CIC when I got my test invitation relatively late compare to other members in this forum. At this time I am still wondering why oath invitations for many applicants are getting delayed even after decision made ? Do they continue more background check even after decision made? Even some centre get test/oath invitation within a week and some centres need to wait for months. No one know the reason.

Hi, it pretty much depends on your local Citizenship office schedules.

For an example, Edmonton office still haven't schedule any oath ceremonies past November 14. So applicants who already has given their test are waiting to receive their invitations,.Whereas Calgary has already schedule the oath ceremonies until January 05, 2018.

So its very likely the Calgary residents will be receiving invites earlier than Edmonton residents.

Cheers...

our exam is on 22nd and oath on 24th.
good that I called!
they mentioned they have sent the invitations in the snail mail, so I guess, we should have them by the end of the week
