I am a June applicant and my papers have been in process since early August. However, lately I can't access ecas so I called CIC and they said that my application was cancelled because I do not meet the residency requirement and that the package is already in regular mail being sent back to me.
I have been in Canada for more than 1500 days and they are saying that according to their calculation I fall two weeks short of 1460.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Re-do the maths and re_apply

Thank you for the suggestion. I did the Math like a zillion time and I have been a loyal PR since 2012, so I should be good. I am thinking however, could it be possible that in one of my entrances to Canada, the officer failed to enter my info in the system?
Have you or anyone you know been in such a situation?
Should I apply for ATIP from CBSA to verify?
Thanks again

Referring to your post 26th August 2017 you had mentioned your physical calculation calculator as 1600+ , now you are insisting on 1500 days. Please sit down with your passport and double check your dates. Something is really wrong somewhere!

I will add a comment in your tracker that your application is being sent back due to residency calculation as per Citizenship officer. Do keep us posted what happens.

I would suggest wait for it to come back. cross check the dates, and resend the same application back explaining the days you have traveled outside Canada. If you have any itinerary of your bookings when you have left Canada and came back to Canada attach that as well. Along with highlighting the stamps on your passport. If you are 100% sure of your days in Canada, then prove it to them. It could be a human error on their end.

This will cause more problems for this guy. Just fill a new application and re-send as you have added another three months to your residency in Canada. Good luck

You have multiple options how to proceed. Anyways in Fall this year they are about the declare the date from when the new residence law comes in effect. I am expecting they might announce it during the Citizenship week which is in October. But that's just my guess.

Your suggestion is the safest option though.

Received the request for fingerprint today. Letter dated September 5, 2017. CIC office near my location is Mississauga. However the letter came from Toronto address. Does it mean my application is processed @ Toronto office?

Finger print request for sure. I got same status on sep 1 and received letter on sep 6. Got them done this morning in commissionaire office with $52 fee. This is in Regina. Im sure you will have same office in Vancouver also.

Thanks you friends.

Received FP request letter on Sep 6. Got them done this morning in commissionaire office with $52 fee. They said RCMP will send prints directly to CIC office and they will get hold of me later by phone. I have to do nothing in FP process anymore. My spouse got letter this afternoon and FP will be done on Monday now.

Kindly update in sheet.
