I am! LimaVO seems to be quite slow! Here is our timeline (hasn't changed in so long ):

We received your application for permanent residence on June 22, 2016.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on October 20, 2016.
We started processing your application on September 1, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

I didn't hear anything back from them since my interview in October.
I'm hoping something will come soon.

Is it mandatory to change address and add spouse name on passport before applying for pr?

Hi,

In my case, I used my maiden name when we submitted our application. During the application, and since my passport was about to expire, I got it renewed with my new married name (appended husband's surname). We updated our immigration lawyer to update CIC.

CIC will understand such circumstances when the women renew their passport names and change their surname following their husband's during the application process. But make sure to inform CIC and send them a scanned copy.

Regarding the address, you may use your current address. In case you need to move to a new home while the application is in progress, you need to inform CIC as well. Reason being is, with my case, they sent back all the pictures and proof to me so make sure any correspondence from CIC can reach you on the address you've provided them. Hope this helps. Well we received the PPR yesterday! We didn't hear anything for over 6 months and then got a nice email yesterday morning asking for my wife's passport, no update on ECAS or GCkey before or anything, just straight to PPR. Hope you get some good news soon!

We are entering 10th month of our application. The only communication we have had was on 3 Jan 2017 when we were asked to provide police certificates from Thailand and Oman were we have lived over the years as teachers. These were not given in initial application as CIC stated that for these countries: We will first review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we will send you more information on how to get a police certificate'.

Our application now says 'Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check'

Does anyone know what this actually means? Has the background check begun?

I know all timelines are different but can't make sense of MyCIC status as it seemed to have been more straightforward before changes were made to the wording in March.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Apply for GCMS notes and that will give you some idea about whats going on. It generally takes a month to get them once you request.

Hi all, my wife has sent wrong size photographs by mistake. Should I wait for the office to ask for new one or should I send right away.

I would wait until you have your UCI number from your confirmation e-mail before you send in the new photos. That way they can attach them to your file.

Hii...someone told me cic return the application package as incomplete if photos are not of correct size. I sent 35 mm x 45 mm photos of my husband as this is the standard visa application photo size. They ask for 50 mm x 70 mm photos with PPR for the PR card. I just hope they dont return the application.

no you are not the only one I have submitted my application on June 6th and its passed 13 months already I know 30 more people like us that have passes 15 months already, so you are not alone my dear.

It means that your background check has not started yet. The next step in your application is to conduct a background check.

Hi all,

I too am waiting! Have had no movement whatsoever on our file. Any updates we get through our MP states they have not initiated Background check or Criminal check. They quoted that although the website says 12 months processing, it could take up to 15 months. My husbands medical has expired and they were aware of this. They have not contacted him to renew the medical or to come for an interview. We are being processed in the Ukraine where he is a Permanent Resident there. So depressed and heartbroken why it's taking so long.
