So I just logged in to cic just for the hell of it, and it says decision made. I haven't received any email or the fedex package yet though. I wasn't thinking about it and now I'm nervous to know what I'm getting.

I can't find myself on this spreadsheet. I'm still waiting to hear back since they asked for a prepaid postal parcel to be sent to them over a month ago. I'm not even thinking about it anymore. It will happen when it will happen!

You are welcome to add your username and timeline then :)

Just saw your next post! It sounds like positive news!!!! But I know how you feel...one never knows until the visa is in hand.

On the cic site there is a new feature where you can link your application to the cgkey or something. I did that, and it tells me that I'm approved!

Final decision This application has been approved

That's what it says so I guess I just have to wait for my docs now.

I'll update the spreadsheet with my details.

Application has been approved and FedEx package received by my husband. I'm on Canada so he's sending it to me. Says it has a letter of confirmation and the options for processing, and some original documents in it. I'm so excited now!! Finally! And to think I had just given up.

Hi. How long is PR usually valid for?

Also, do they typically come with conditions other than criminal activity?

I ask because mine expires 2018 and under conditions it says I just remain in a conjugal relationship with my sponsor (my husband) for 2 years from the date of PR. I thought that was very weird.

This is called condition 51 and it was implemented a few years ago by the Conservative government. It means that if upon the date of application received, the couple had been married for less than two year AND with no children, there is a condition that the husband and wife must physically LIVE together for two years upon being granted residency (landing). The condition disappears after the two years has passed (meaning you don't have to do anything about it). If you cannot meet this requirement, there is a chance your PR will be revoked except in exceptional circumstances (abuse).

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/family-sponsorship.asp

Assuming you meet this condition, the PR never expires as long as you fulfill the residency requirements (meaning being physically present in Canada for at least 2 years out of each 5 years). More information here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp

Hope this helps!

That did help -- thank you!! Hubby actually said the same thing, but I still had to ask someone else.

Got my appt for August 26 for landing at the local office.

Each day, my wife and I wait for her application to be cleared but the more I think about it, the more I get mad and frustrated. We signed her up for the GCkey account the other day and there's essentially been no movement, apart from her medicals shown as "passed". The application is already more than 12 months old, and what was even more frustrating was her medicals expired, so we had to redo them in June. We've wasted a tremendous amount of time and resources, and any time I check up on the application, I get no answers. My wife is already here with me in Canada under a tourist Visa, but it's driving her mad that she can't work. This whole process has been so frustrating...Manila, hurry it up, please! :(

Is anybody else still waiting?

Hi jampots15,

I totally feel you. There has been no follow up whatsoever and I'm losing more and more patience each day.

Have you been checking eCas regularly? Have you signed up for GCkey as well? There may be more information for you in there if you haven't already done so.

ive been checking it everyday but there is nothing.. i sent them an email.. i consulted our mp.. i did the gckeys and everything.. still there is no update. its a good thing your wife is with you right know.

It is very frustrating. When applications exceed processing times, they tell us to contact them, but no answers are given. >:(

It is ridiculous and I hope they prioritize the applications that have been continuously delayed. Best of luck to our applications...

Maybe we share the same, slow Visa Officer? lol...that can possibly explain why we've been waiting so long.

I'm happy to say that I'm finally landed. I was already in Canada and got my appointment for yesterday. We were the first ones called and the process was less than 10 minutes. I the
n went to get my SIN. Finally, its done! Longest 14 months ever but definitely worth it!!
