Wondering how long we should expect for landing interview? We have about 2-3 hours as transit. No other flights were available...is it doable at YVR?

The same here! We land in Toronto. But we have another flight to Calgary in 3hrs 45min. Not a lot but hopefully is enough! Can anybody share their experience how did their landing go? Tnx!
Another thing.. On the landing guide it said to make a list of all the items i bring to Canada. How detalized it should me? What is important to note and what is not? The guide also mentions that i need to have reference letters from my ex-employers, school dimplomas' translation etc with me. Is it that crucial? Has anyone been actually asked to present these docs during their landing?

Thank you lots! :)

Hi Everyone! Is this the group for those that sent in sponsorship applications for spouse outside of Canada in June 2015 to CIC? If so I would like to join.

Thanks

Hey guys,

Congratulations!!!

Submitted 22-Feb-2016
Received at CHC(ISB) 23-Feb-2016

since than no response, put an enquiry yesterday, still waiting...

I haven't received any correspondence since October when I was asked for another birth certificate, police record, and proof of my daughters Canadian citizenship. They also wanted a letter outlining our marriage. Mind you this is an almost 10 year marriage and nothing arranged. Starting to get worried.

Are you the sponsor or applicant?

If sponsor, are you representative (actually filled out the form to be the representative) to your spouse the applicant?--asking since you said "you" received correspondence. If you are the representative, you would naturally receive the info requests. If you are not, and you are the sponsor, you being asked for more information would still be about the sponsorship part. Just trying to see what stage of the application you are in.

Anyway, if you got SA, and your spouse got AOR2 (assuming that's the place where CIC asked about the additional info), and you followed up with the information, then the application would continue.

You should order GCMS notes to see what's going on since you provided the requested information. If you do not know how to order it, just search in the internet for GCMS notes, and there's a Youtube video teaching you how to do it.

I'm being sponsored -- my husband is sponsoring me. We have done everything ourselves. We received SA months ago. We sent everything to them (including the things they sent for again). I think we may have needed to send 2 copies in our package. One for Mississauga, and then they sent everything else to Kingston. They requested additional birth certificate and police record for me. If they never had those wouldn't we have been denied him sponsoring me? I KNOW we sent EVERYTHING!!!! We even sent photos and stuff and they asked for all that again. They received the additional documents in January. Maybe it's the Kingston office. There are folks on here whose application was in after ours and they're complete already.

I'll look into the GCMS notes.

Thanks for your response!

So my husband landed on Apr 1 in Calgary and the landing interviews (immigration / customs) were combined. He asked the standard questions about criminal record and dependents....also the address he wanted the PR card to be sent to. He also informed us about Condition 51 and I had mentioned that this would prevent me from working overseas on humanitarian contracts. He asked why...and then went on to explain that I (sponsor) could find work overseas and have my husband accompany me...and that this would count as time in Canada. I saw something to this effect for military / govt personnel but not for everyone....so I'm going to get a second opinion on that one.

I do have one question...I saw on the AB Health Services website that PRs are supposed to apply for a health card within 3 months of landing...but we may need more time to settle our affairs and contractual obligations....will this be a problem? We are staying with friends at the moment and don't have proof of an address yet...

i totally believe that you sent all the required documents with your application - i've heard so many stories about CIC misplacing documents it's unreal. but no, if - for whatever reason - your documents were not included, that would not hinder the Sponsor Application. if all of the sponsor's information is present, that application will be processed. sorry you're going through such frustration :( but now that they have everything (again!) it should be smooth sailing.
