No ndi pa sis.. My kausap lng kc aq sbi q sa post q ng change ng address ung hubby q tas pinachage q rin mali sa address q last aug 30 ngsend aq ng email ky Cem tas khpon ngcheck aq ng ecas nabago na ung mali.. Kya sbi q umuusad nmn pla.. Pero ndi pa ppr hubby q,, sorry sa misunderstanding...

Update:

My brother's wife (the one being sponsored) got an email from CEM ON 9/11 for AOR 2,
and another email on 9/12 to request for a re-medical. Mag eexpire na kais medical nya.
Wala pang PPR.

So at least we can see that the process is moving along. I imagine some of you na ok pa ang medical should be getting your PPR's soon.

Hi guys,

Good thing i found this forum from the internet because I have a lot of questions about spousal sponsorship. Before I lay all my questions on the table I just want to give some background about us for my questions later. Currently I am a Filipino worker here in Saudi Arabia since April 2012 and my wife is working and living in Canada since March 2010 (we already know each other during our college years back in 2004 and became a couple in 2009 for those who might wonder) and she got her PR last January of this year. Both of us went back home to the Philippines last May to get married. After our marriage and honeymoon we came back to our respective country of work to continue our jobs (me in Saudi she in Canada) back there. My wife is sponsoring me and already gathered all the necessary documents we need while we're in the Philippines (except for the Police Clearance I need to acquire since I've been working and living here in Saudi Arabia for the past two years according to my wife) and submitted it to the Mississauga VO this month. Now my questions are as follows:

1. How long does the whole process usually takes upon receiving the applications?
2. Since I am not a citizen of this country can we choose the Philippines as my local VO?
3. In connection to question no. 2, do I really need to have a police clearance from Saudi Arabia even if I'm just a worker here? And if I really need to how long will it take for me to have one?
4. In my application I used my company's address here as my current address since I am working offshore, will it have any problems in the processing of my application?

Thank you in advance for answering my questions, both me and my wife are clueless about this spousal sponsorship, we just followed what is said on the guidelines and checklist from cic.gc.ca but I feel we need to have some ideas from the people who is also undergoing the same sponsorship category.

As for your questions, pls see below comments:

1. How long does the whole process usually takes upon receiving the applications?

It is always a case to case basis, that being said, there's no way of telling talaga, approx time is between 5 mos up to 14 mos (14 mos is the posted processing time for Manila VO)

2. Since I am not a citizen of this country can we choose the Philippines as my local VO?

You can choose between Abu Dhabi and Manila. If i were you, I'll choose Manila VO.

3. In connection to question no. 2, do I really need to have a police clearance from Saudi Arabia even if I'm just a worker here? And if I really need to how long will it take for me to have one?

Yes, it is one of the requirements. And sa lahat ng bansang napuntahan mo basta't tumira ka dun ng 6 mos and above, need na ng Police Certificate. I am not sure lang how long ang processing ng police certificate, Pwede mong iask sa HR or PRO nyo dyan sa company.


4. In my application I used my company's address here as my current address since I am working offshore, will it have any problems in the processing of my application?

No problem with that, kasi later on mag aask ulit sila ng address (kung san mo ipapadeliver ang passport mo with visa) pag irerequest na nila ang passport mo (PPR). So pwede mo ilagay ang home address mo sa Pinas as the delivery address.
