Good morning,this is the email i got today ,my passport was expiring in 3 weeks ,they didi not have the new.



This refers to your application for Permanent Residence in Canada.

Case Status:

In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

· ELLA OREN
· > Passport/Travel Document: A scan copy of your valid passport or travel document. The expiry date must have at least six months from today's date. This must be received at this office by: 05/12/2014

yes it is, my time line
applied in June 20,medicals done in September ,paid my RPRF in January 7,in procees since December 13.

i think they were about to send you PR request and they discovered the validity issue so they send you email to send the new passport ...

Are you from Visa exempt country?

they mentioned the due date to send the copy , is it 12 May of 5 of Dec?

Here's my timeline:

File received at CIO NS: June 20th

Medicals: Late August

In Process/RPRF Fee requested November 19th

Additional Docs requested November 26th (Updated personal history and travel)

and that's all I've heard.

I requested GCMS notes at the start of February and got them back last week.

Eligibility: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Security: Blank
Medical: Passed

From GCMS notes it looks like all checks were instigated in Nova Scotia before file was forwarded to Ottawa in early December. Notes section indicates it's undergone an initial review by an officer in Nova Scotia (which I didn't think happened there) and has been sent for security check and final review in Ottawa.

Haven't heard anything from them since the RPRF email

as you have a valid passport (Not Travel Document) from Israel, you dont need a visa .. so they are asking for passport copy to prepare your COPR and will send it to you directly ..
