June 2013 - Outland Applications!

I have some very good news to share with everyone!

After much ado, my husband received his passport request on the 10th of March, by email. He was asked for his entire physical passport, 2 recent photos, and an updated information chart. He submitted his documents in person at the London embassy on March 12. He waited two weeks, and went to pick up his passport again just on Wednesday (March 26) with a beautiful visa sticker inside! Note: the original medical expiry should have been for mid-March (as it marks 1 year of completion of the medical). By email, this was extended to April 5, 2014. However, when he received his COPR in person, he found that the validity had been extended for another year (March, 2015)! But, since we can't take another day of this long wait, his flight is set for next week!

All in all, I just want to thank this forum and all the members for their kindness. I understand that most of my questions were difficult to answer, but I appreciate the honesty anyway. We had never expected to find a forum like this, so accessible, and with so many users who can offer a million and one answers!

Good luck to everyone else! I wish you a swift ending to this terrible journey that CIC has put us all through. Praying so hard for you to be with your loved ones soon. After going through 7 months without each other, my husband and I wish and pray for good news for everyone (more quickly). Just know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Small Oh My God moment for me....

E-cas updated to IP yesterday...they started processing on 28th March....BUT my meds are not updated and MP enquiry couple of days back got a response from NDVO that they havent recieved my medicals results till date and will contact me in due time with further instructions...

So either they'll call me in a few days and extend by meds and ask me to fly asap OR...and more likey that I'll have to redo my meds....so god knows how long that will take.

But a lil relieved to see In Process....for now!

Thanks..... another BUT..... got an e-mail for re-meds on the 5th of April ( I think it came quickly thanks to my MP enquiry happeniing at the same time ) ...and they've goofed up with my surname on the mail....written back to them and awaiting their response.

They really are the pinnacle of inefficiency aren't they?!!

It starts immediately after the first stage get approved.

Ok thank you. do you understand why people that have sent in the application after me have already been approved?? i thought they dealt with the applications as thy came in?

I don't think they process applications on first come first serve basis. I'm a May 2013 applicant, and it's still being processing. For the same VO, I know people who applied much later than me, in August or even September got their COPR already. Each case is different. Some app takes longer on background check than others... it all depends.
