Ohh.. thats more than a year... Did you applied for GCMS notes... You can also write to NDVO to know the status of ur case as their processing time is 12 to 13 months.. yours has been more than that..

No...my app was innitially filed on 2nd may, it got returned for missing signature.

Re-filed on 20th June...so as per that i've just touched the 9 month mark today.

I did apply for GCMS Notes in Jan and they hadn't started anything till then...really NOTHING started, but was asked for Additional photographs on 15th Feb 2014. No news after that.

Going for MP enquiry now....Meds already expired on 5th march

Visa on hand today guys. Thanks God

I just got my COPR in the mail today.

I have a question about landing. I have been in Canada since Sept on a Visitors permit. I am in Oklahoma right now visiting my parents and my wife is in Canada. My wife is mailing me the COPR so I can possibly land on my return next week. My one question is my car is already in Canada. Can I land and register my car & pay GST at a later time? I think they have to inspect my car when I import it. Anyone know?

Check out this site. It has all the requirements you need to for exporting the car from the US and importing into Canada. I too am going through this process.

https://www.riv.ca/ImportingAVehicle.aspx

Pleas be aware, that if you have a lien against your title, you will need a letter stating that you can legally export the car out of the US and import into Canada. Most US banks will not authorize this, as they have no way of repossession if you don't pay on your loans.

I'm getting a loan in Canada to pay off my current lender and then I can export/import.

The vehicle also needs to be in the US for a minimum of 72 hours prior to export, as US CBP needs a 72 hour notice. You cannot just flagpole.

I'll be taking a trip to visit a family friend so that I can meet the 72 hour requirement of the US CBP.

You will need:
  • Recall Clearance Letter
  • All papers on your vehicle showing original purchase amount, so that CBSA can asses the GST/PST/HST tax amount
  • Vehicle must have Daytime Running Headlights that cannot be disabled

Hope this helps and welcome to Canada as a PR! :-)

Did you applied for GCMS notes? IF not then apply and see the status

Its too early for that as Islamabad has a timeline of 32 months. Even some 2011 applicants and most of 2012 applicants are still waiting

Hello everybody! Any more news?

We went to Niagara on Saturday, crossed the border, saw the Falls from US, and came back. At the immigration, they were rather rude, kind of like we were wasting their time, although we had everything ready. We had the CoPR, the marriage certificate (and a copy) - but they didn't ask us for it. However, she asked for the phone number, address, proof of address (so I am happy I brought a bank statement with his name on it) and she also asked for the visitor status (the extended visa he got). We waited about 2 hours and then we were done. There were about 10 people ahead of us that's why we had to wait so long. She also said that with the CoPR he can get a SIN card and a health card, so we are going tomorrow morning to get the SIN. The Permanent Resident card will come in about 6-8 weeks. I guess these are all the news. We are very happy this is almost complete.

Please, send me a PM if you want me to update your status on the spreadsheet. I am working every day, so I barely have time to come online :( However, I think of all of you often and pray you will be close to your loved ones soon! Trust God and have faith! All the best! :)

I have some very good news to share with everyone! :)

After much ado, my husband received his passport request on the 10th of March, by email. He was asked for his entire physical passport, 2 recent photos, and an updated information chart. He submitted his documents in person at the London embassy on March 12. He waited two weeks, and went to pick up his passport again just on Wednesday (March 26) with a beautiful visa sticker inside! Note: the original medical expiry should have been for mid-March (as it marks 1 year of completion of the medical). By email, this was extended to April 5, 2014. However, when he received his COPR in person, he found that the validity had been extended for another year (March, 2015)! But, since we can't take another day of this long wait, his flight is set for next week! :)

All in all, I just want to thank this forum and all the members for their kindness. I understand that most of my questions were difficult to answer, but I appreciate the honesty anyway. We had never expected to find a forum like this, so accessible, and with so many users who can offer a million and one answers!

Good luck to everyone else! I wish you a swift ending to this terrible journey that CIC has put us all through. Praying so hard for you to be with your loved ones soon. After going through 7 months without each other, my husband and I wish and pray for good news for everyone (more quickly). Just know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
