Hi,

I was tempted to send additional documents with my application in order to make it 'strong', however I decided to send just what was indicated. Anyway, I collected all those additional docs and had them ready just in case. I also took them to the written test and interview but nothing was requested.

One thing I think was helpful, was the fact that I put good details in the residence calculator. For instance: May 21-25. USA. Reason: Visited my corporate office in NY to meet with .....

Hope this helps.

Okay, this is as per my observation and replies from forum members, when you see your Received line disappear, then the file is transferred to local visa office and background checks start at that point.

I know this for sure since I monitor my online application status and observed the same.

You can call CIC to ask them your application status, has the file been transferred to a local visa office and if yes then when? You can update us and verify whether our observation is correct or not?

Good luck

Called CIC call centre today after I saw that the "Received" line was gone from the online status. They told me that the background checks are done and my file has been transferred to my local office (Calgary).

Greetings June 2013 applicants!

I called CIC today to make an address change as I am moving to another location but same city and the area of the city. The CIC agent recorded it. I also asked the agent that I want to verify the status of my application and she said that it is in the local office which is Scarborough.

Happy Spring everyone and I hope we all get our tests in the spring and hopefully oaths as well!
