Yeah, I'm thinking about doing mine in January. I realise upfront medicals don't make a huge difference in terms of processing times, but every little bit counts when you don't have a work permit.

From our perspective, I think it will at least save time for getting an appointment & for DMPs to upload the results. Somewhere ~1-2 or max 3 weeks. And as you said, CIC will anyway take their own time for processing even if we save time on our medicals.

I'll also do the upfront medicals around Dec or Jan..

Just wondering, isn't your WP valid anymore? I assume you have considered BOWP already.

Unfortunately not :( I applied for CEC after my work permit had already expired

Oh..that's sad to hear. But how did you match up the CEC criteria? Did you apply for Study/Visitor visa?

You also need to keep in mind that you will have time up to 1 year after medicals for landing. I.e., if you pass medicals in January and you'll receive landing documents in December, you'll have only a month to land...

What criteria? Having a valid temporary resident status if applying from within Canada? Yeah, I had applied for a visitor's status (which was recently approved :)) a couple weeks prior to applying for CEC. I also included a cover letter briefly explaining my status history, starting with PGWP.

Don't scare littlemalfada. The address you posted is for applications sent by regular mail, not courier (Purolator).

Soon we all will be getting medicals....

Probably in another 4-5 months maybe. There are still people from 2012 waiting!

4-5 months..its too much waiting

Get used to it - some people wait a lot longer

CIC's website updated current processing time for CEC from 12 to 13 months. Do you guys think due to the strike and all; maybe we will see the processing time increase further? I hope it doesn't :(

There is a chance it may drop in the next quarter because the AORs are received within 55 days now. Let's hope for the best!
