RCMP is a Federal Police Department of Canada.

This request from immigration is to check if for check if you have any criminal record in Canada.

Hope this helps

Oh ok.. is it different from a police clearance or the same?

thanks

Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Sometimes CIC asks the applicant to submit a RCMP fingerprint certificate - Then you go to RCMP and do the check.
Remember you only do it, when CIC asks for the certificate. There is no harm, if you do it before hand. But chances are CIC will never ask for it.

On the other hand PCC (police clearance certificate) are necessary, and all applicant's must have them.

RCMP fingerprint certificate = Canada's police clearance.
PCC = The police certificate you got from your country of citizenship (depending on when you have traveled).

You can complete RCMP procedure at Commissionaries.. Go through below link.. they do Digital fingerprinting. You will receive report in 7 business days.. find the location nearest to you..

Medical for June applicants? April maybe? I believe that the usual ETA for these is 10 months now.

The RCMP fingerprint request and the eligibility check are completely independent. No way except through GCMS notes to tell about eligibility, but on the usual timeline it won't start for months.

Hi All i would like to share my case.
Applied 26 nov 2012
AOR 20 Jan 2013
Till oct, there was no reply then applied for
GCMS Notes and found out that according to
VO my duties were not matched with NOC .
And my status was " review required" .I believe
The VO requested another officer for another review
At the last it said" awaiting officer review required before
Sending RCMP Finger print to PA"
I sent them an explanation letter and i added
Few duties missing in the reference letter
Few days later i received finger print
Request and they received it after two weeks.
Now i know finger print is just criminality check
But some part of me think i passed eligibility check
Coz if they were gonna reject then y would
They send finger print request ..
I may be wrong or right ..
Plz share your suggestions
