Hi All, I glad to tell you all my eCAS staus changed to "Medicals Recieved" today. I am hoping to do get PPR today but i got a big problem ahead. I am going to be married in next 1 or 2 months so i am confused on what to do. Can someone advise what should i do.

You yourself are saying that the wedding is in 1 or 2 months, meaning you have still not finalised the date. Better to delay the wedding a little more and complete the landing first.

My ecas is updated to medical received .

Looks like many June applicants status got updated to medical received today.

My ecase status also updated to medical received.

It's really nice to see some progress with June applicants . Hope everybody will go through this lengthy process soon.

guys,

Completed landing on Saturday at Rainbow bridge at Niagara.

Crossed over the bridge and went to US border and got the "not allowed to entered" letter from them (as we dont have US Visa) and returned back to Canadian border.

When we returned back and told that we are here for landing, they directed us inside to the immigration department.

Then we heard the unexpected reply from the immigration folks that the systems were down. They were asked to go out and roam around for 2-3 hours and return back.. We were very disappointed with that response.. We met few other folks who are also could not complete the landing because of non-function of the systems...

Finally, we left from that place and spend couple of hours near Niagara falls and after some time decided to go back to them....

When we returned back to them, they said the systems are working fine now and completed the landing formalities in just 10 - 15 mins...

Thus finally this journey came to the end of the long waited period... crossing many hurdles....glad to become PR.

Many thanks to this forum members who helped tremendously with their suggestions, experiences, inputs...

congrats.
Am I misunderstanding? They let people cross into Canada without any formalities because they don't hire IT guys?

He still has valid work permit i believe which will let him out of the immigration office.

that is basic stuff, but if the computers are down, he can't walk right into Canada without them inputting his data. Or maybe he can it is like Syria and Lebanon here.

This is quite disrespectful. I am not from Syria or Lebanon, neither I am familiar with their system. But pointing at a particular country in this manner should not be very welcome.
Ganesh clearly said in his post that he could not finish the immigration process because the servers were down and was asked to wait for few hours. He did not mention whether he was inside Canada or No man's land area. He had valid documents to stay in Canada. As he did not leave Canada (by entering another country through land), he has his right to stay in Canada (unless ordered to leave). Also, I am not sure where you got information like "they don't hire IT guys" from. :-S
Even though here we don't know you,\ and you might be frustrated, showing respect to others won't hurt any one... :)

Maybe he just meant that going between two Arab countries is no big deal, as with the EU, and goes on "friendly" basis without scrutiny, and that similar relations exist between the US and Canada. I am an Arab and did not find his comment malicious :) so just relax ;)
